Bell is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to support Drive Systems Center located in Grand Prairie, Texas

Position Responsibilities:

The Senior Process Engineer will contribute to the successful completion of major projects that support strategic priorities or difficult technical objectives.

The Senior Process Engineer understands advanced manufacturing technical principles, theories and concepts to develop imaginative manufacturing technology on existing or advanced designs, concepts, processes, systems and tools.

Working under general direction, the individual possesses unique Manufacturing Engineering knowledge in specialty and advanced manufacturing technical areas. Represents Production Engineering as manufacturing technical contact on projects, programs and/or cross functional teams.

Education Requirements:

  • 6 years in aerospace or related manufacturing industry experience with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or relevant/related disciplines.
  • 4 years in aerospace or related manufacturing industry experience with related Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business, Engineering, Engineering Technology or relevant/relates discipline plus a Master of Science (MS), Master of Business Administration (MBA) and/or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

Position Requirements:

  • Direct customer facing experience either supporting production, industrialization of product or frontline leadership.

  • Able to effectively identify, report and resolve potential safety and quality hazards/risks.

  • Able to develop scope of work, resource estimates, progress metrics, and communication cadence for overall project management to meet mission critical objectives.

  • Able to perform producibility analysis and manufacturing trade studies to determine cost effective solutions to complex manufacturing technical lobjectives.

  • Works through a disciplined approach in initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing tasks and projects to achieve specific goals to specific success criteria.

  • Work and deliverables reviewed and checked through team leadership, Project/Program management, and Functional management to adequately meet objectives

  • Mentors and shares manufacturing technology with team mates andcolleagues.

  • Past experience with milling, jig boring, and/or multi-function machine experience required

  • Knowledge and/or expertise in one or more manufacturing technologies to include, but not limited to the following:

  • Aero-structure Airframe design of metallic, non-metallic, machining, cutting tool, additive part fabrication and assembly manufacturing processes, equipment, tool integration, and product verification.

  • Electrical and Mechanical Systems design, integration and installation manufacturing processes, tool integration, equipment, and product verification.

  • Tail, Main and Prop Rotor Blade Systems - design of metallic, non-metallic, machining, cutting tool, additive part fabrication and bonded assembly manufacturing processes, tool integration, equipment, and product verification.

  • Manufacturing Execution Systems - process specifications, CAD/CAM; production planning, material requirements scheduling, and material kitting and handling.

  • Gear and Transmission Drive Systems - metallic, non-metallic, machining, cutting tool, additive part fabrication and assembly manufacturing processes, tool application, equipment, and productverification.

  • Tool and Equipment Integration Facility requirements, ergonomics, safety, environmental, automation, robotics, metrology, tool & die fabrication, tool design methodology, determinant tooling & fixtures, loft practices, flat patterning, numerical controlled programing of equipment, tool cutting/addition technology applied to the fabrication and assembly of vertical lift systems.

  • Knowledge of military and commercial aircraft systems.

  • Able to apply engineering design and analysis knowledge to evaluate discrepancies and anomalies.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office tools of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio and Outlook.

The LTIAMD program requires a Systems Integration, Test & Verification Engineer to support ground and flight test efforts. Experience with testing of hardware and/or software is desired.
