Senior Process Engineer

Senior Process Engineer for Muscatine, IA to use chemical process engineering knowledge to support agricultural chemical manufacturing plant operations; develop technical solutions to improve safety, quality, waste minimization, capacity, reliability & operability performance; design & execute plant trials for performance improvement; act as process expert for capital improvement projects & process hazard analyses initiatives; resolve process safety risks; prepare piping & instrumentation diagrams and related engineering documents; approve process changes & deviations; mentor junior engineers. Requires Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering or closely-related field & 5 yrs experience performing process design for chemical manufacturing facility(ies); providing initial cost estimation for new and/or modified processes; analyzing process hazards to minimize risks; participating in safety & ISO9001 audits; providing technical & strategic leadership to process optimization teams; monitoring key performance metrics; designing, planning & managing plant projects with significant business impact; leading critical troubleshooting efforts of unit operations, including chemical reactors & evaporators, crystallizers, centrifuges, emission scrubbers, cooling systems, catalysis and/or filtration; performing checkout & startup assistance for capital projects in chemical production facility(ies); analyzing & making recommendations regarding improvements to chemical process operations; using process control automation tools, including DeltaV; participating in process safety management procedures & analysis; and approving process changes & deviations.
