Position Responsibilities

IPS is hiring! We are looking for a talented Senior Process Architect to join our industry leading Process Architecture team at our quickly growing office in Dublin, Ireland .

The Senior Process Architect works independently on various projects as assigned by Department Head. He/she may oversee the entire design process or assist as a technical expert on a specialised design. The Senior Process Architect may work on several concurrent projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assess the requirements of a project, breaks projects into tasks and works with Project Managers to determine scope of work, budget and staffing.

  • Writes scope of work for architectural design based on preliminary review and meetings with the client.

  • Participates in proposal presentations.

  • Must have experience in facility Master Planning.

  • Must have the ability to interpret a building program and generate varied design concepts.

  • Proven experience interacting and communicating directly with clients. Active participation in industry organizations and related initiatives is strongly preferred (for example: speaking engagements, presenting at industry events and conferences, etc.).

  • Knowledge of applicable building codes. Works with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required.

  • Assigns and reviews work of project design team. Checks progress of work and alerts Project Manager about scope changes or requests for additional services.

  • Reviews contractor application for payments and has a thorough understanding of construction process.

  • Coordinates all aspects of project document completion within company and externally with clients and other design professionals. Proficient written and oral communications skills.

  • Prepares or reviews construction budgets based on experience and scope of project.

  • Promotes use of and participates in development of IPS design and production standards.

  • Assists in the education and development of design staff and act as resource for design questions.

  • Special projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Extensive previous architectural design experience with equivalent experience in the Life Sciences, (Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and/or laboratory) industries for domestic and/or international project types.

  • Bachelors of Architecture Degree from an accredited university/AIA certification preferred.

  • Must be proficient in the use of a computer for design and understand CAD operations.

  • Demonstrated ability as a designer. Ability to interpret a building program and generate varied design concepts. Knowledge of building and zoning codes.

  • Ability to work as a member or leader of a team.

  • Proven time management skills and the ability to work on more than one project at a time.
