Position Role Type:

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to support a technology upgrade program and partner with leadership in the collection of System IV&V work productivity metrics on a temporary basis. You will collaborate with program leadership, hardware and systems engineering IPTs to ensure the system design and mode functional performance requirements can be adequately tested and verified in accordance to established IV&V processes. The candidate will participate in system integration and troubleshooting. You will provide senior support, guidance and mentoring to existing Systems and Software teams. You must be willing to travel on short notice and potentially for several weeks at a time working extended hours. This position will be onsite in El Segundo, CA.

Responsibilities to anticipate:

  • Requirements management - to include DOORS database updates, verification planning, and data management

  • Test procedure - development, updates and release

  • System level LRU integration - installation, cabling, functional verification, and troubleshooting

  • Test Support - Execution of ETP/DVT/ATP tests and test data package development

  • DD250 Support - accumulating, tracking, managing all pertinent documentation required as part of delivery package.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in electrical engineering and a minimum of 10 years of experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Ability to obtain program special clearance is also required.

  • System engineering, Systems installation, integration, and test experience both in a laboratory and field environment. Position will require hands-on work and documentation.

  • Systems Engineering technical abilities and project management skills directly related to surveillance radar technologies

  • Requirements analysis and breakdown. Understanding of flow of requirement structure and impacts to system and subsystem levels. Must have experience with requirements verification and documentation.

  • Experience communicating to senior leadership, junior engineers and government customers

  • Radar RF design and technology experience with working knowledge of fiberoptics, photonics, related technologies and experience handling equipment.

  • System level interconnect design and system documentation experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of RF and general-purpose test equipment in the execution of integration and test

  • System Engineering practices regarding Testing, Verification and Validation

  • Experienced with RF and general-purpose test equipment in the execution of integration and test

  • Experience working with DOORS and Visio software.

  • Experience with lab and field integration

This is a temporary position of undetermined length.

The salary range for this role is $62.50 to $130.77. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
