Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is Required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS) has an immediate opening for a Senior Principle Systems Engineer for Business Growth. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. GDMS employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

The Radio Frequency Intelligence Systems (RFIS) business unit is focused on providing Mission Operation Centers for critical Department of Defense systems along with computational capabilities for signals detection, collection, and analysis. This business unit also provides customers with capabilities in critical system Command and Control (C2) systems and critical 24/7 mission monitoring systems.

Must be willing and able to travel worldwide 25% of the time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Senior Principle Systems Engineers analyze customer requirements and develops RF-based SIGINT solutions to support program execution and business development. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Direct interface to business directors and executive management in pursuit of GDMS business opportunities

  • Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs

  • Leverages system analysis, design, verification, delivery, and troubleshooting experience to improve program execution and new system offerings

  • Utilize awareness of new technologies to improve the GDMS core portfolio of systems

  • Champions technical and cost proposals to meet challenging customer requirements

  • Lead multi-disciplined engineering groups in technical execution and improved processes

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads evaluations of systems, networks and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable governmental security specifications

  • Synthesizes solutions to meet customer expectations and technical performance while staying within schedule and cost constraints

  • Perform mission, functional, cost-benefit, and risk analysis

  • Researches and analyzes data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application

  • Effectively chooses the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of technical engineering products

  • Guides the successful completion of major programs and projects

  • Works on advanced architectures that may result in new business for the company

  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system design weaknesses

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Understanding of RF-based SIGINT and COMINT system architecture and design

  • Substantial use, understanding and tailoring of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories

  • System requirements definition, decomposition, flow down, and traceability

  • Substantial proficiency with requirements management, system design & system modeling tools

  • System-level and software-level integration and test, including formal test plans and procedures

  • Good understanding of the software development life cycle, including configuration management

  • Substantial written and verbal communications skills, including presentations to internal stakeholders, executive management, and customers

  • Substantial understanding and ability to apply project leadership principles including SPI/CPI, Earned Value, and Cost Account Management (CAM)

PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Masters of Science in engineering in Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering with 15+ years of related experience

  • Satellite Communications collection systems, including antenna earth terminals and communications protocols

  • Communications Intelligence (COMINT), Direction Finding (DF) and geolocation systems

  • Digital Signal Processing algorithm development

  • RF Cyber Systems Engineering

This position involves developing new software features for HPE's 3PAR family of storage products. 3PAR Storage Servers use a cluster-based architecture to deliver a single storage platform that scales from two and eight controllers while offering a highly available storage server capable of tolerating hardware and software faults without service interruption. This individual will design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for software enhancements and new products; develop software including storage systems, operating systems both kernel and user mode; determine hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design. Responsibilities: * Design, implement, and update Linux Kernel based IO for Fibre Channel(FC), NVMe, and SCSI including debug and support. * Linux USER space IO development and debug * Leads multiple project teams of other software systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration. * Designs enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software.
