Job Summary:

Raytheon is looking for a Product Owner (PO) to support a program's Constellation Management team. The program provides the ground system to include command and control for the entire constellation. Raytheon is upgrading the existing system to handle this new generation of satellites .

This Principal Systems Engineer will communicate and work closely with Program Management, the Chief Engineer, the Agile Release Train (ART) Release Train Engineer (RTE), the customer, and other Product Owners in support of the program development activity. The candidate will lead a multi-discipline team of engineers responsible for delivering the CON capabilities.

The PO will plan, assign, status, provide technical direction, lead, and manage all Agile tasks across the CON team. The PO attends technical interchange meetings with the team members and other program personnel, and represents the organization in matters pertaining to the development of his/her project, provides status on assigned Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasks as required and provides document review and resolves technical systems engineering and integration issues. The PO will work directly with a Control Account Manager to meet team earned value management responsibilities.

The PO will support various proposal and/or Request for Change efforts. This candidate must have the ability to manage time and resources in order to meet assigned deadlines.

The candidate must have software development lifecycle experience using the Agile methodology. The candidate will have experience as a Product Owner/Scrum Master. The candidate will be customer facing and must possess strong technical skills. An existing secret clearance is required.

This position is a hybrid role, and the selected applicant will work with the hiring manager to set schedule.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Provide technical direction and design to software agile development teams.

  • Perform technical analyses and define how the system works to include requirements, architecture, and identification of agile feature acceptance criteria.

  • Work directly with Government customer to gain acceptance of features for work in a program increment and approval to close features after successful verification of feature acceptance criteria

  • Provide engineering support and technical direction for the implementation of a portion of the program's integrated engineering management plan.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

  • Experience as a Product Owner or Scrum Master within an Agile development framework

  • Experience with Agile software development lifecycle models

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued SECRET security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of administration

  • Experience in Systems Engineering leadership, to include earned value management system experience

  • Systems Engineering experience on a large government software development contract

  • Experience working in a DevOps development environment, being part of a highly integrated team working closely with Software and Integration teams

  • Experience on satellite or satellite ground control systems

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
