R-NAV programs provide affordable Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) solutions by leveraging our existing products and technologies, focusing on research and development, and expanding our strategic customer and supplier partnerships. R-NAV programs also support all elements of military Global Positioning System (GPS) technology including aircraft GPS navigation, weapon GPS/Inertial Navigation System (INS) guidance, and advanced technology programs. R-NAV programs support a variety of applications such as amphibious assault vehicles, aviation, maritime, munitions and handheld devices.

R-NAV area programs are looking for a software engineering leader/DO-178 Subject Matter Expert (SME) with thorough knowledge of DO-178 requirements. Responsibilities include providing technical leadership in order to meet the requirements for DO-178 DAL C certification, providing guidance to the development of compliant software architectures, and ensuring successful DO-178 compliance.

A qualified candidate for R-NAV Programs would have a proven track record of achieving DO-178 certification through assessment of contract requirements, evaluating and determining options for achieving certification, and executing to close gaps and ensure program success. The candidate works with customers to understand options that impact quality, cost and schedule. The candidate effectively builds and obtains consensus from internal management and customer representatives.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 10+ years of related technical experience in large team software engineering development with C/C++ programming or similar languages

  • Experience working with DO-178 software processes and ensuring processes are followed (DO-178C preferred)

  • Experience with performing stages of involvement (SOIs) reviews and defending compliance to certification authorities

  • Experience with requirement based test coverage analysis

  • Strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with software management and the software lifecycle, including system integration and requirement verification

  • A proven track record in building and obtaining consensus from internal management and customer representatives, as well as executing on time and within budget

  • U.S. Citizenship Status is required as this position needs an Active DoD SECRET Security Clearance as of Day One of employment.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with GPS and/or Radar test and Integration

  • Working knowledge of MIL-STD-1553, IS-GPS-153 Serial Interface protocol, signal selection, acquisition and tracking, Position, Velocity, and Time (PVT) calculation, data demodulation, signal correction, jamming and spoofing or related application

  • Knowledge of MS Office or other presentation tools

  • Experience with identifying and implementing risk mitigation activities to reduce cost, schedule and technical risks

  • Experience in Green Hills Integrity, WindRiver VxWorks, or related Real-time Operating Systems and board support packages (BSP)

  • Experience with Configuration Management tools, such as git and ClearCase

  • Experience with structural coverage analysis using VectorCast

  • Experience with automated test tools, techniques, and practices

  • Experience with Agile-Scrum methodology

Required Education:

BS or STEM Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent from Accredited University.
