Job Summary:

Raytheon Software Engineering is looking for a Senior Principal Software Engineer - Diagnostics and Reprogramming Tool (DART) Product Owner in Tucson, AZ. The candidate will lead in the accomplishment of software engineering tasks in an iterative development environment employing the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to develop DART radar guidance section integration software capabilities.

The DART Product Team will be part of the Advanced Technology Effectors Guidance Section Kit team (gsKit). The DART PO will communicate and work closely with the gsKit Product Manager, Chief Engineers, Software Architects, and other Product Owners, such as Seeker, Radar Signal Processing Algorithms, Embedded/Built-In Test, and DevSecOps, as well as Common Guidance Section integration and test leads. In addition, the DART PO will work with gsKit stakeholder missile program parallel team leads and POs in support of missile system development.

The successful candidate will provide technical direction and lead the DART team of software engineers to plan, assign, status, and guide Agile software tasks. The DART PO attends technical interchange meetings with team members and key stakeholders and represents the organization in matters pertaining to the development of projects, providing status on assigned Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) tasks, providing document reviews, and resolving technical software engineering and integration issues.

This successful candidate must have the ability to manage time and resources to meet assigned deadlines. The successful candidate must be able to lead a team working multiple hardware configurations and manage multiple development branches.

This position is within the Effectors Center of the Software organization, and is an onsite role located in Tucson, AZ.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Ability to obtain program access

  • Work in a team environment developing integration software applications coupled to hardware

  • Decompose software capabilities into actionable features

  • Define daily software development and integration backlog priorities

  • Work in an Agile and DevOps development environment as part of a highly integrated team working closely with System Integration and Verification teams

  • Demonstrate ability to effectively work and communicate with all levels of program, customers, and technical leads (IPTs, chief engineers, architects)

  • Provide presentations to communicate status to program leadership and the customer

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience

  • Experience with C, C++ or Python software languages

  • Experience developing real-time embedded software systems using an RTOS, such as VxWorks, etc.

  • Experience developing, integrating, or testing real-time radar software

  • Experience integrating software capabilities on hardware using test equipment

  • Experience leading a team of engineers

  • Ability to obtain a Secret U.S. government issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Git and Microsoft Azure DevOps Server

  • Agile or Scrum experience

  • Radar software development and/or integration and test experience

  • Radar system test/diagnostic experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, RF signal generators, spectrum analyzers, or logic/bus analyzers

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
