Job Description:

The Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) Advanced Manufacturing Test Solutions team is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative team member to lead Common Factory Test Platforms (CFTP) projects in Massachusetts. This position will be responsible managing and executing CFTP projects across RMD sites with a main focus in the Integrated Test Automation System (ITAS) area in Andover, MA. The CFTP Lead will report to the Advanced Manufacturing Test Solutions Manager, and will interact directly with local factory leadership, manufacturing and test engineering, supply chain and other key functions to develop CFTP initiatives, deploy projects, and coordinate sustainment of systems post-deployment. The position will be networked across all RMD factories across the USA as well as engineers from other Raytheon Technologies business units. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of project management and integration of test equipment in a factory setting, including high mix, low volume production.

Responsibilities include:

  • Generation, execution, and management of capital Appropriations Requests (ARs) for CFTP projects

  • Mature and Maintain Capabilities roadmaps in support of RMD Product and Technologies

  • RMD Presidio ITAS Execution Lead responsible for the technical direction and financial responsibility assuring capability development and deployment for future products and technologies

  • Interface with strategic suppliers and align capabilities with RMD and Enterprise product technology roadmaps

  • Interfacing with multiple engineering disciplines and subject matter experts on new program pursuits

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience with test equipment projects

  • Experience in project management with applicable toolsets

  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Desired Skills:

  • MS in engineering or business related field (for example, systems engineering, manufacturing engineering, or industrial engineering, MBA, Business Management, Program Management)

  • Demonstrated ability to develop business cases and Return on Investment analyses for projects

  • Experience with factory flow and capacity analysis

  • Knowledge of IPDS

  • Ability to work with minimum direct supervision

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Proven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills

  • Experience with capability assessment and analysis; e.g. capability roadmaps

  • Strong MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word skills

  • Experience driving Continuous Improvement and Lean Initiatives

  • Experience with project management tools including Earned-Value Management Systems

  • Experience with new technology innovation; e.g. technical symposiums

Required Education:

  • BS in an Engineering field or the sciences or Masters with 8 years of experience

In this role, the engineer will Design, test and commissions industrial electrical and process control systems including hardware and software. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as required. Designs electrical control panels and control systems by applying knowledge of electricity, materials, and instrumentation/control equipment. * Incorporates specifications and requirements into system design and specifies and requisitions equipment accordingly. * Coordinates and supervises design requirements with designers. * Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities. * Coordinates, supervises and inspects the activity of electricians performing system wiring both in-house (skid systems) and at customer sites. * Provides electrical checkout of systems in-house and at customer sites. * Generates detailed process Functional Descriptions (FDs) from general process descriptions handed over from the product departments. * Coordinates with the product departments to ensure the programming will meet their requirements. * Coordinates with Team Lead - Process Automation to fully understand the Process Automation standards, and to implement those concepts in the control systems. * Designs software applications by applying knowledge of computer programs, systems, and networks, and/or by supervising and coordinating the design done by subcontractors. * Tests software applications by performing simulation testing of software on the hardware platforms or emulators. * Coordinate schedule and budget with the Team Lead - Process Automation and the Project Manager. * Completes projects by commissioning instrumentation, electrical, and control systems at customer sites. * Maintains product and company reputation by utilizing established equipment, procedures, and designs, and complying with federal, state and local regulations. * Maintains confidentiality by keeping information confidential. * Prepares documentation to be included in operating manual by identifying and describing equipment operating characteristics. * Contributes to team effort by assisting others with their projects and completing non-project related tasks as assigned.
