Senior Principal IT Business Analyst
The role of the Senior Principal IT Business Analyst is to facilitate the requirements gathering, solutioning and development of customer-facing digital solutions for our Customer Support site (support.veritas.com), the PartnerNet Platform, and multiple other related digital applications that support Customer Care and Channel Sales. This position is ideal for a collaborative and creative individual who facilitates the business case, requirements, solutioning and delivery of web solutions. The Senior Principal Business Analyst is an integral part of the IT team and acts as a bridge between the External End Users/Customers and the Software Developers, and provides process excellence leadership to other BA's on the team.
Build trusted client relationships through proactive communication and effective project delivery.
Creates and deliver presentations to business stakeholders and IT project teams and leaders.
Conducts project discoveries and leads significant portions of kickoff meetings and activities.
Translate stakeholder business needs into detailed business requirements documents, use cases and systems interaction diagrams.
Facilitate customer meetings, resolving requirements issues, and gaining buy-in for solutions.
Works with customers to establish approved wireframes and mock-ups for solutions.
Assists project manager or acts as project manager where needed, to establish high, mid, and micro level plans for project team.
Owns the assigned applications as the IT "product owner".
Helps to establish critical path, milestones, delivery dates, and review client deliverables to ensure they meet client acceptance criteria.
Provides leadership throughout the lifecycles of a project, guiding the understanding the project team has through solutioning, mdesign and development to ensure project requirements are met.
Communicates roadmap status, feature status, and delivery status to the business team.
Problem solves for strategic business issues and application production support issues.
Helps establish project test strategy, methodologies, test plans as well as direct test execution. Facilitates UAT planning and successful execution.
Instills team commitment to company delivery methodologies and practices.
Ability to conceptualize a solution from inception to implementation
Minimum of 8+ years of experience facilitating functional requirements and Business Process Re-Design (BPR) or equivalent within new product development for a technology firm
Experience in product development, product lifecycle management, functional and process analysis
Experience with Test Driven Development
Experience with writing user stories and executing agile delivery of projects
Working with blended teams of onshore and offshore resources for sprint planning, feature prioritization, testing and delivery
Experience with the creation and maintenance of detailed requirement and specification documentation
Experience with a blend of software development methods (i.e. Waterfall, Agile, XP, RUP, etc.
Experience understanding emergent technology trends related to customer care, website development, vendor management, and workflow software solutions
8+ years' experience working as a Business Analyst in a large enterprise IT team with progressively higher levels of responsibility.
Experience working on projects involving digital content management, templates, components, tagging, metadata.
Experience leading meetings with vendors, stakeholders, and managers on cross-functional teams, to determine business requirements.
Experience with MS Office for project requirements documentation, reporting, and analysis.
Strong communication and team skills required. The person in this role will lead meetings with stakeholders, document business requirements, and work with IT and vendors to ensure the business requirements are delivered per the specifications.
Preferred skills and education:
Degree in Computer Science is a plus
Previous experience supporting digital applications as a lead Business Analyst or Solution Architect
Strong understanding of complex Internet based enterprise level applications
Experience with agile development methodologies
