As a Senior Principal Engineer you'll be building the next generation of the Data Platform. With big technical problems to solve - you'll have the chance to push boundaries and create something new.

Provider Data Platform brings together disparate provider data across UHC Operations, Network and Clinical to see all meaningful information about a provider system aggregated into one, easy to access, location. Platform is driven by Event Processing of Provider Journey with building Enterprise Service layer with API and ability to run machine Learning algorithm.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of many technical areas in technology through experience and academic achievement

  • Hands on Engineer who lead by Example with Developers

  • Shares knowledge internally with peers and leaders and acts as an internal resource for teams and business units within their areas of expertise

  • Leverages subject matter expertise (SME), to consult internally with leaders and individual contributors on forward-looking products and services

  • Works with internal teams to provide insight on complex internal technology matters

  • Guides and mentors' junior engineers within the organization

  • Technologies you would work with:

  • Java

  • Big Data with Spark and No-SQL

  • Apache Kafka

  • Apache Cassandra

  • Elastic Search

  • Kubernetes

  • Docker

  • Makes high level design choices for the software structure, frameworks, protocols, and algorithms

  • Determines coding practices, development tools, and validation requirements

  • Ability to coach and collaborate - you enjoy working closely with others, pairing and learning, and are comfortable showing off your work

  • Drive innovative solutions for Hybrid and Enterprise Cloud deployments

  • Extraordinary communication and collaboration skills. You are pragmatic and know how to build trust

Required Qualifications:

  • Hands on Experience with at least 2 of the following: Cassandra, Elastic or Kakfa

  • Ability to design patterns, memory management, garbage collection and performance optimization with Cassandra, Elastic or Kakfa

  • Experience with event sourcing, streaming data and complex event processing

  • Experience working with containers and container-orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes

  • Experience with Java, Spring frameworks, multi-threading, and caching techniques

  • Strong Knowledge on CI/CD

  • Experience in design, implementation and deployment of scalable API services

  • Ability to design application to seamlessly integrate with industry leading orchestration systems including Kubernetes, OpenStack
