What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Perform detailed cost/revenue analysis based on input from several departments, including Sales, Pricing, Linehaul, Operations, etc.

  • Interpret analysis output for sales presentations to buyers; assist Sales team with negotiation preparation

  • Conduct analyses under different pricing scenarios to compare net results

  • Collaborate with Pricing team leadership to establish and implement a pricing strategy and tactical plan

  • Build and enhance pricing tools to accurately predict pricing for new and existing opportunities

What you need to succeed at XPO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Finance or equivalent related work experience

  • 2 years of professional experience in quantitative analysis

  • Experience using computer-generated decision support modeling

  • Experience with data mining using business intelligence software

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

It'd be great if you also have:

  • 3 years of professional experience in quantitative analysis in the transportation field

  • Experience with market tools (Transcore, Chainalytics, ITS)

  • Understanding of market trends (seasonality, industries, factors that impact rates)

  • Knowledge of Less-than-Truckload (LTL) shipping and/or pricing

  • Experience with SQL and statistical packages

  • Highly organized work style with proven capacity to multitask

VIEW JOBS 11/26/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-24T00:00 MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (i.e., Policies, procedures, goals, etc. for which you are responsible.) * Prepare accurate and timely filing of federal, state and local income tax returns and other business related filings of OSI Group, LLC and affiliates, as needed. * Assist in providing tax advice and service to OSI Group, LLC, its principals, affiliates and joint-venture entities. * Assist in identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures. * Assist in implementing strategic tax planning for all necessary federal state and local taxes, as needed. Research tax questions to optimize tax information and minimize liability in conformance with laws. * Assist in maintaining overall return calendar and coordinating timing and inputs with tax team. * Assist in maintaining effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process. * Assist in federal, state and local tax audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, etc. * Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments and assist in creating strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation. * Provide support with various internal/external audits and special tax related projects. * Assist with preparation of quarterly/annual tax distributions/provisions. * Prepare monthly/quarterly sales & use tax returns. * Prepare annual property tax returns. * Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS * Individual/corporate/partnership tax knowledge * Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations and partnerships. * Familiarity with U.S. federal, state and local reporting requirements. * Experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements. * Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks. * Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to work well with stakeholders. * Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. * We are looking for a candidate with 3+ years of experience in a tax or public accountant role. Preferred candidates have a bachelor's degree in an accounting discipline and a Master's Degree in Taxation. * Strong skills and experience with Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint. * Familiarity with SAP, Corptax, and research tools.
