What you'll be doing
The Senior Sales Consultant is the key driver of adoption and opportunities at Global System Integrators (GSIs) and their customers. The Sales Consultant provides presales support for new opportunities at the GSIs and their customers, aids in generating, discovering and validating new opportunities for sales and engages customers to drive adoption of Tableau's products according to best practices. The expected result of these activities is expansion of the accounts.
Some of the things you'll be doing include
Become a trusted partner in the adoption of Tableau within the Global System Integrators and their customers
Develop, evangelize and socialize Tableau solutions and successes with executives, business owners, technical sales, and implementers.
Provide presales support for all sales activities including needs analysis, data review, product demonstrations and other general sales support
Be an expert on all technical aspects of Tableau including, but not limited to, advanced Tableau Desktop capabilities, Tableau Server, high availability architecture, server sizing, large scale implementations, and ancillary technologies.
Solve technical problems, propose solution architectures and guide implementations toward best practices
Become an expert in the features, benefits and application of Tableau's products
Develop and execute on adoption and sales plans specific to the account
Communicate via phone, email, face-to-face and web meetings with prospects assisting and guiding them through the evaluation, selection and adoption process
Drive all aspects of successful Proof of Concepts from requirements and design to training and delivery
Communicate daily with sales staff regarding sales activities and strategies
Deliver web-based demonstration and 1:1 sessions for GSIs, customers and prospects
Provide onsite training and professional services for GSIs and customers as needed
Provide proactive support to GSIs, customers and prospects. Monitor and engage is support cases as needed.
Serve as the GSI and customer advocate and liaison for product management and development
Who you are
Excellent Communication. You know what to say and more importantly, how to say it.
Experienced. 5 or more years' experience in a Sales Engineer/ Sales Consulting role. This includes 3 or more years' experience with business intelligence.
Highly Technical. You have strong technical skills across various technologies & impeccable business acumen. Experience with SQL or MDX (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Analysis Services, Essbase, Netezza, etc.). Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Data Integrator, Data Transformation Services, etc.) a strong plus.
