Job Description:

  • SAIC has an immediate opening for a Senior Policy Analyst supporting the Headquarters Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Integration, Office of Strategy, Planning and Policy (AF/A10P).

  • Work will be performed at the Arlington, VA area.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise on implementation and compliance activities for arms control treaties and international agreements impacting Air Force equities, including the New START Treaty, the Hague Code of Conduct, the Missile Technology Control Regime, and the Ballistic Missile Launch Notification Agreement.

  • Perform analysis on proposed arms control treaty provisions, implementation guidance, and the preparatory work relative to new treaties and agreements involving AF equities and activities.

  • Support the development of Air Force nuclear and arms control policy and guidance.

  • Provide subject matter expertise support for AF/A10 Nuclear Posture Review (NPR) implementation efforts.

  • Utilize MS Office applications to develop briefings and presentations.

  • Draft issue papers, reports, meeting minutes and other documents, as required.

  • Draft and coordinate staff packages for review and approval.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 15 or more years of related experience or Master's Degree and 13 years of related experience.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of the organization and functions of the Department of Defense and Headquarters Air Force.

  • Possess expert understanding of Air Force nuclear capabilities, Air Force strategic deterrence efforts, and NC3 programs.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.

  • Demonstrated superior research, analytic, and writing skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of missile telemetry.

Required Clearances:

  • Active Top Secret clearance, with ability to obtain Top Secret with SCI.
