Senior PLC Engineer

Requirements

  • B.S. in an engineering-related discipline (preferably Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science) or 5 years of field experience.
  • Field service experience with Rockwell Factory Talk, Tridium, Schneider Electric, Siemens Apogee, Ignition, Eaton Networks, Field Servers, Jace Controllers, Bacnet, and Niagara.
  • Minimum 3 years of system integration experience as a team lead or project manager.
  • Ignition certification is a plus.
  • Experience in mission-critical infrastructure is highly valued.
  • Working knowledge of MQTT-Sequel Server-Ignition core protocols.
  • Proficiency in Windows and associated skills.
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams, control diagrams, MOP-building operations, electrical theory, chiller control circuits, and industrial HVAC systems.
  • Solid foundation of communication protocols such as Modbus and Modbus-TCP.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage large-scale controls projects and track project schedules and customer requirements.

Day to Day

  • Provide high-level technical service, including engineering support, network topology planning, and system controls design.
  • Assist customers, project engineers, and system engineers in developing cost-effective SCADA controls and system solutions.
  • Develop and document SCADA and PLC programs; configure hardware and software for desktop and server PCs.
  • Design and integrate wired and wireless Ethernet and Serial data networks.
  • Update company standards and specifications for BMS/EPMS.
  • Implement BMS system deployments on construction sites, validate designs, and develop PLC code.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, repair, and report on SCADA, PLC, and instrumentation systems.
  • Validate BMS system sequences and provide support for system testing and commissioning.
  • Develop and implement QA procedures.
  • Write detailed daily reports and update project progress for leadership teams.
  • Coordinate project work to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
