Senior Platform Engineer

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an experienced compute focused, Senior Platform Engineer who, under minimal supervision, will design, develop, and maintain compute equipment. A successful candidate will be a highly skilled member of a team responsible for manufacturing infrastructure emphasizing compute and operational reliability. This role will give you the opportunity to use your skills to support the entire Georgia-Pacific enterprise, including 110 manufacturing locations, corporate HQ, and many carpeted spaces. We are a technology enabled company seeking a professional compute resource interested in using knowledge to drive superior business results

What You Will Do

• Scope of work to cover compute infrastructure platforms for all Georgia-Pacific's manufacturing facilities, including mills, plants, and warehouses.

• Function as a platform owner for enterprise compute equipment, tools and services (Bigfix, Windows, Linux, vSphere, etc.)

• Develop and maintain compute equipment lifecycle strategy.

• Develop and maintain compute equipment configuration standards.

• Project lead for compute equipment lifecycle replacement.

• Manage the production Bigfix appliance and other configuration tools to manage compute standards, configuration, and updates.

• Develop automation playbook and scripts.

• Analyze system failures or bugs and providing solutions to restore functionality demonstrating a high level of initiative and executing against a defined plan and strategy.

• Compute design and troubleshooting.

• Develop an understanding of business operations to better support Georgia Pacific and suggesting changes to processes that add value.

• Participate in the implementation of systems needed in the manufacturing environment as a team leader or member.

• Work as part of a larger support team to implement overall company standards in the IT Business and Process Control environments.

• Use Good Customer Focus and troubleshooting skills.

• Strategically think and formulate strategic and tactical plans.

• Understand and translate business requirements in value driven actions.

• Work independently, setting goals, and achieving milestones with minimal direction.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Strong customer focus, technical support and troubleshooting skills.

• Experience in technology and/or manufacturing environment and the support of included systems.

• Working Knowledge of the following Tools: ServiceNow/ITOM, LogicMonitor, Splunk, scripting tools, Ansible, BigFix)

• Experience with automation scripting languages and tools.

• Experience with compute equipment.

• 5+ years of experience in technical related position administering compute equipment.

• Experience with the Purdue model for industrial controls.

• Experience with Project Management

What Will Put You Ahead

• Contribution mindset with a desire to create 'always on / always connected' facilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, cyber security, or related field.

• Experience supporting a manufacturing operation environment.

• Experience with Compute, Server Configuration Management, DHCP, DNS and Active Directory.

• Experience with security related to business infrastructure assets, and process control assets.

• Experience with the Purdue model for industrial controls.
