Boston Senior Physical Therapist specializing in Pulmonary Physical Therapy
MGH outpatient department currently has a full-time opening for a Senior Physical Therapist specializing in pulmonary physical therapy. MGH physical therapists provide care to a predominantly adult population with pulmonary disease as well as those with orthopaedic, neurologic, vestibular, and women's health related dysfunction. This is an excellent opportunity for a physical therapist with proven expertise in the management of patient with obstructive or restrictive lung disease, both operative and non-operative and requires strong independent clinical decision-making skills to develop plans of care to meet our patient's individual needs.
Opportunities exist for frequent physician collaboration to enhance management of the patients with cardiovascular and pulmonary needs. Additionally, the pulmonary physical therapists are frequently consulted for assistance in managing a range of patients with airway clearance dysfunction.
The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills necessary for the multidisciplinary management of patients, advanced competencies in pulmonary physical therapy and proven problem-solving skills. Demonstrable leadership and experience in process improvement with a healthy dose of intellectual curiosity to advance our AACVPR certified Pulmonary Rehab Program and care patients will enable this right candidate to be most successful in our dynamic health care environment.
MA license; Minimum 3 years outpatient physical therapy experience. Candidates must be APTA Board Certified in Cardiovascular and Pulmonary or have an agreed upon plan for achieving certification.
