Job Description:

The Senior Technician Prior Auth & Appeals will work a rotating call schedule throughout the day to support Clinical Services Representative I, II, and III with complex non-clinical or Prior Authorization questions or calls. Responsibilities

include assisting supervisors with day to day tactical issues, handling escalated calls, training, coaching and other business needs. The ideal candidate will promote a positive working environment and initiates suggestions to continually improve processes; assists supervisors with standardization of procedures, coaching, training, and dissemination of information to staff; act as a subject matter expert in processes, procedures and products; communicate clearly and accurately when interacting with all levels of employees, plan participants, account managers and partners; manage escalated and more advanced Prior Authorization issues when needed; answer questions and recommend corrective action to address complaints; handle special projects and assignments as designated by the supervisor and/or manager.

This is for an evening position. Schedule 12n-8:30pm CST

Required Qualifications

Must have at least 1 year in CVS Prior Authorization Department Required

TX Pharmacy Technician License Required

Must be able to work evening shift

Preferred Qualifications

Superior PC skills in Windows based applications

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Superior soft skills

Ability to work in a high-paced work environment

Ability to work in a team environment

Requires flexibility to work various shifts between 8 am and 6 pm

Superior PA knowledge with excellent quality

Ability to positively deal with changes and promote a positive work environment

Basic math skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Must have excellent attendance & schedule adherence

Education

A verifiable High School diploma/GED and TX Pharmacy Tech license are required.

The Intake Agent will make the determination if a complex request should be transferred to a technician or pharmacist for assistance. Additionally, the Intake Agent is responsible for maintaining complete, timely, and accurate documentation of all approvals and denials. In order to be successful in this role you will need proficiency pronouncing drug names and diagnosis and recognizing medical terminology. As well as navigating multiple software systems to document conversations and outcomes, which require keyboarding skills. This position requires schedule flexibility including rotations through nights, weekend and holiday coverage.
