Under the general guidance & direction of the pharmacist & as permitted by the respective state board of pharmacy, the role of the Medication History Specialist is to conduct patient, family, or caregiver interviews to obtain a list of medications a patient was taking prior to admission.

Hours: Full-time, 1.0 FTE, Variable Shift 40 Hours Per Week.

Required Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Upon hire: Alaska Pharmacy Technician License
  • 1 year of Retail pharmacy experience or medication history technician experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training and Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician Program
  • PTCB (may be required where applicable by state)
  • Preferred: PTCB certificate in Medication History
  • 1 year of inpatient hospital experience
  • 1 year of experience with pharmacy information systems (i.e., Epic, ADM applications)
