As the multi-specialty group practice for the faculty of the University of Minnesota Medical School, University of Minnesota Physicians has more than 950 physicians and 1,600 health professionals, providing clinical care in over 100 specialty and sub-specialty areas. The Performance Improvement Consultant Sr. will work with our performance improvement team, drive strategic performance improvement initiatives using proven performance improvement methodologies while ensuring accountability, focus, strategic alignment and cross functional relationships with the other UMP entities through the use of metrics based goals and objectives. This individual will design and implement strategic healthcare industry best practices using effective consulting skills.
Other responsibilities include:
lead the development, implementation, coordination and management of the strategic project plan under direction of the PI Director across multiple divisions and functions to improve current and new processes
Serve as a senior internal consulting resource to numerous clinic managers, leadership, work groups and committees.
Work to develop leadership and their staff's ability to undertake increasingly complex process improvement initiatives.
Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering and/or Healthcare related field
Trained to use current process improvement tools
Knowledge and training in process improvement and project management skills
Knowledge of computer applications for documentation of flow charts, trending of data, report findings, and project management
Knowledge of program system analysis and program evaluation principles and practices
At least five years of project management or process improvement experience in healthcare
Demonstrated project management skills
Performance improvement and change management experience including data analysis in healthcare
Ability to translate plans into actions and progress measures
Ability to analyze and evaluate operational effectiveness, prepare reports and present findings
Proven ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and maintain effective working relationships
Five years experience using Lean and/or Six Sigma
Project Management certification
MA Degree in management, healthcare administration or related Process Improvement area
Sigma Lean or equivalent credentials
Lean Facilitator Trained
Experience with EpicCare Ambulatory EMR.
