BigTime Software is seeking a Senior Performance Engineer to join our Phoenix office. As a dynamic Senior Performance Engineer, you will collaborate extensively to ensure stability and scalability in our award-winning, cloud based system. This is an exciting opportunity to work side-by-side with a team of talented individuals on our Engineering team. What You'll Be Accountable For:
Execute on performance and scalability roadmap. You will be responsible for proactively scaling our database systems to ensure high availability and performance.
Independently analyze and optimize slow SQL queries.
Resolve performance issues in specific queries and general workflows.
Monitoring and alerting
Own and improve our database monitoring and alerting (Sentry)
Respond and resolve database issues
Periodically perform code reviews to ensure queries and code are performant and following engineering standards
Collaborate with the infrastructure team on database server and network issues.
Lead project team meetings with business analysts, QA, developers, and senior database administration staff to determine requirements for database design
Collaborate with internal stakeholders on performing custom data loads and creating related tooling
Produce ad-hoc reports for stakeholders across BigTime
Who You Are:
Highly motivated by continuous learning
Expert level grasp of of SQL Server skills including performance analysis, performance testing, database design, optimization, and administration
Expert level problem solving & critical thinking in collaboration with other Engineering stakeholders in our company
Able to foster a collaborative environment with our team.
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
Expert level proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting
Proficiency in C# & .NET framework for developing applications and backend systems
Proficiency with Git
