HME is currently recruiting for a for a Senior PCB Layout Engineer. This position is a high-level technical position. You will be performing complex technical tasks such as PCB design and change order activities using CAD software for new product development and sustaining engineering.

What you will do in the position:

  • Create PCB layouts for high-performance digital, analog and RF systems.

  • Uses E-CAD DRCs and other verification tools to check designs for manufacturability and testability (DFM and DFT).

  • Conduct layout design reviews with cross-functional teams.

  • Work with engineering staff to create PCB layout schedules.

  • Work closely with award-winning, on-site PCBA to product-level manufacturing facility. Consult with manufacturing and test engineering teams to optimize products for manufacturability and testability.

  • Provide technical expertise in layout design: PCB stack-up, standard vs. HDI technologies, routing rules, EMC design, DFM and DFT, balance cost vs. design choices.

  • Generate and maintain parts for the E-CAD libraries.

  • Write, incorporate, and check changes orders as required.

  • Help establish new design procedures.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentor team members.

What you will need to succeed in this position:

  • In-depth knowledge of PCB design and a desire to learn and grow your skills.

  • Good technical leadership skills.

  • Good verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.

  • Team player mentality and a positive outlook

  • 10+ years of related experience

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology strongly preferred

Your Day-to-Day tools:

  • Altium PCB layout and schematic capture software.

  • CAD software such as AutoCAD and CAM350.

  • Standard PC Office Suite (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)

It would be great if you were familiar with:

  • Orcad Schematic and PADS layout tools.

  • Working knowledge of Valor for pre-fabrication PCB design verification desirable.

  • Fundamentals of electronic design as it pertains to PCB layout.

As a Senior Staff Research Engineer at HME, you'll use your acoustics and DSP skills to define and develop microphone and speaker technologies for the next generations of cutting-edge voice communication products. You will be responsible for defining and optimizing acoustic and signal processing systems to deliver clear and intelligible voice in industry leading communication systems. You will collaborate with algorithm designers to implement new signal processing solutions on custom hardware. You'll ensure that our customers can communicate with each other even in harsh conditions. What you will do in the position: * Collaborate with experts in voice communication systems, signal processing, and radio technology to define, build, and demonstrate working proof-of-concept systems for engineers, product managers, and executives. * Develop and implement new signal processing algorithms that enhance communications for our customers. * Provide training and consultation to design engineers developing new communications systems including headsets, microphones, and speakers. * Use acoustics knowledge to educate colleagues. What you will need to succeed in this position: * BS in Electrical Engineering physics or mathematics. MS in Electrical Engineering preferred * 10 years of experience in acoustics and signal processing * 5 years of experience implementing signal processing algorithms on DSP hardware * Experienced with C and C++ programming languages * Able to read, understand, and implement designs based on MATLAB, Octave, and Python examples * Able to communicate clearly and concisely in English through both written and verbal reports * Experience with image processing * Experience with Machine Learning or Deep Learning At HME you will have the opportunity to learn and grow while developing our future products.
