To help facilitate our expanding business, RMS Energy is currently seeking a Senior P&C Technician to join our dynamic and fast-growing team. Our tech engineers perform testing and routine maintenance on transmission/distribution power equipment, relaying (electromechanical, solid state and micro-processor), pilot channel equipment (power line carrier, pilot wire, transfer, transfer trip, fiber optic, CVTs, line tuners, line traps, etc.), and controls and communications equipment. Responsibilities:
o reading and verifying voltage and current inputs to relays;
o verifying all metering (local and SCADA);
o calibration of relays;
o trip testing (local and SCADA);
o verify all alarms (local and SCADA); verifying all function switches
equipment, relaying (electro-mechanical, solid state and microprocessor), pilot channel equipment (power line carrier, pilot wire,
transfer, transfer trip, fiber optic, CVTs, line tuners, line traps, etc.), controls and communications equipment
Plan, schedule, and complete test activities efficiently, on time, without service interruptions
Provide support to appropriate field service personnel
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED; associate degree in electrical engineering technology preferred
Experience in commissioning, panel and equipment checkout, relay calibration, testing and repairing
substation relaying and control schemes
substation commissioning; SCADA/Fault Data/SER/Integration-Automation equipment installation and testing
Knowledge of three-phase power systems; power system protection & control schemes; test equipment; test equipment software
Test equipment and toll/wiring knowledge; interpretation of wiring and elementary diagrams; basic test skills to perform duties listed
above; basic PC skills

Learn and apply client switching procedures and safety measures as appropriate or required
Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications
Perform regular field work indoors and outdoors
Valid Driver's license and good driving record
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Employs professional and effective communication in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
Manages time efficiently with the ability to work and prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines
Self-driven and exhibits the ability to work with minimal supervision
Other Requirements:
Primary office location is based on job location
Up to 50% travel required, with flexibility for overtime, extended hours, and occasional work on nights, weekends, and holidays. Availability for increased travel and hours may be necessary during peak seasons.
