Senior Payroll Manager

The Senior Payroll Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate pay, and is challenged to continually enhance the organization's payroll processes, policies, and practices.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of six, and ensure accurate bi-weekly disbursement of multi-state payroll, including garnishments and taxes consistent with federal and state wage and hour laws.

• Critically review and analyze current payroll and tax procedures in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations.

• Ensure payroll system is accurately set-up and maintained to reflect current employee wages, benefit deductions and any other payroll information is in line with current policies.

• Communicate actively with Operations, HR and Finance to review cross-departmental impacts and reconcile data sharing.

• Manage regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, etc.)

• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Absolute Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferred, or significant equivalent experience

• Expert level knowledge of payroll software/HRIS and understanding of best-in-class payroll processes (Dayforce experience highly preferred)

• 7-10+ years of total payroll experience, with experience leading teams to successful outcomes

• Thorough understanding of current payroll related legislation, and ongoing interest to remain up to date on legislative changes that impact payroll

• Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred

• Please note this is a full time in-office position. Candidates will need to be commutable to Westport, CT.*

Pay Range

$140,000-$150,000 USD
