This position reports to

Head of Payroll, US/PR

Your role and responsibilities

The Senior Payroll Analyst will be responsible for overseeing US/PR payroll operations activities to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality control. With a heavy focus on SAP Payroll / ADP Global View, this role will facilitate communication, take a proactive lead to identifying issues and resolution, complete root cause analysis, and provide guidance and training to the Payroll Operations team. As a Subject Matter Expert, the Senior Payroll Analyst will strive to continuously improve processes and provide a great customer experience. This role will work onsite in Cary, NC on a hybrid schedule (#LI-Hybrid). You will be mainly accountable for: - Overseeing the complex multi-state, multi-frequency payroll administration and offers support as needed to the team.

  • Supporting end-to-end payroll activities, including off-cycle payrolls and retro events. Ensuring that all employee earnings and deductions are accurate and in compliance with payroll wage and tax legal requirements and ABB internal compensation policies.

  • Using problem-solving skills to research escalations, provide operational subject matter expertise on payroll processes, and proactively communicate with internal and external business partners.

  • Identifying improvement ideas by challenging the status-quo (especially processes that are manual/repetitive)

Qualifications for the role

  • A relevant Bachelor's degree with three years of payroll experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

  • CPP certification preferred.

  • SAP payroll module experience required, Workday experience + ADP experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of payroll methods, touch points, end-to-end processing steps, and best practices; up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local FLSA laws.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel and other MS Office applications.

  • Experience with SAAS Systems.

  • Hands-on experience with multi-state and multi-company payroll (at least 5K+ employees)

  • Knowledge of integrated, cross-functional business systems.

  • Must maintain confidential information discreetly and protect employee privacy.

  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
