Summary/Objective

As the Senior Parts Manager, you will work directly with our 5 local dealerships' Parts Managers to ensure inventory levels are adequate to ship 75% of orders from stock while maintaining a minimum of 5 times physical inventory turns annually. Constantly reviewing all inventory practices and facilitating policy to drive improvement. Working with all vendors to maximize purchasing opportunities and create a competitive parts sales landscape. Firm understanding of the marketplace and customer needs to constantly adapt purchases and inventory. You will work directly with the Director of Operations to develop growth plans and pricing strategies and track trends and KPIs to maximize profitability while growing sales.

  • Facilitate inventory controls to deliver a minimum of 75% of orders from stock.

  • Continuously monitor slow-moving and obsolete parts to less than 15% of inventory.

  • Drive process and policy to maintain less than 3% physical inventory variances.

  • Responsible for annual inventory results and semiannual spot-check inventories.

  • Implement processes and policies to maximize warehouse workflow and efficiencies to highest customer satisfaction.

  • Implement system training for all parts department staff.

  • Manage vendor relationships and constantly source alternative vendors to achieve the best possible pricing.

  • Centralize purchasing/warehousing to maximize bulk purchase opportunities.

  • Report monthly obsolete and slow-moving parts. Maximize return/sale of these parts.

  • Visit locations for hands-on evaluation and system training.

  • Organizational Skills with Attention to detail.

  • Computer proficiency

  • Technical Knowledge of All Product Lines and Service Options.

  • Self-starter, Goal-oriented.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and or people.

  • Written and Verbal Communication Proficiency.

  • Basic understanding of Accounting rules and IBS applications.

  • Be able to Travel Frequently.

  • Constantly investigate new products and vendors for new products to promote and sell, while testing the marketability of said products.

  • Accomplish and maintain the DTNA Parts Export level of certification.

  • Set up, schedule, & maintain training for all parts staff for certified and non-certified training for the betterment of their position. Acknowledge these achievements

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct reports but will work directly with parts managers to ensure company policy and processes are followed for maximum efficiency and highest customer

satisfaction.

Work Environment

This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Physical Demands/ Expected Hours of Work

This is a largely sedentary role; however, travel is required, mostly by automobile.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This position would require working evenings and weekends on occasion working with customers and key management on various projects and sales. This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and must work a minimum of 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.

Required Education and Experience

Minimum of a high school education and ten (10) years of industry-related experience in a management position. Business degree preferred. Proficient in all MS Office products and other customer and business-related management tools.
