The Springfield-Greene County Park Board is seeking a Senior Parks Planner. The Senior Parks Planner is a key position for the Parks Department and requires a comprehensive expertise in all facets of park master planning, design principals, and practices. One of the primary responsibilities of the position is to help coordinate and facilitate Parks improvement projects.
The ideal candidate is comfortable and effective following policies and procedures that come with a public-sector planning position. This position is essential in preparing and interpreting construction contract documents, blueprints, code requirements, boundary surveys, and more. This position will serve as the grant administrator when necessary and is responsible for providing documentation for projects to meet grant requirements.
The Senior Parks Planner also serves as the staff planner and technical advisor to Ozarks Greenways, a partnering organization that promotes development of Greenways trails throughout Greene County, Missouri. Effective communication is crucial for this position, as the technical expert for numerous park improvement projects. The ideal candidate will excel at collaborating with others including professional consultants, Parks administration, partnering organizations, citizens, various city departments, committee members, vendors, and others to accomplish park improvements for the community.
