Work with attorneys in the preparation, filing, and monitoring of various immigration and nationality law matters. Handle multiple case types, continually build on knowledge and develop expertise in new areas; independently handle cases; teach and mentor others; coordinate flow of cases and oversee projects.
Process a high volume of cases of increasing complexity and variation; coordinate work for a major client and/or multiple clients partnering with attorney. Identify and evaluate problematic cases and provide strategies and/or solutions to issues. Prepare forms, letters, documents and correspondence for attorney review; adapt tools and resources for casework which deviates from templates.
Communicate with assignees and HR contacts, often serving as main point of contact. Provide guidance to assignees and HR contacts regarding proprietary systems and case processing. Manage status of all filed applications and petitions and finalizes documents after attorney review.
Prepare internal caseload reports for management; begin to generate reports for internal and external use to serve as effective quality assurance and to assist in client management and share process flow with assignees. Perform research to obtain information such as background on a company or industry, current wages, processing procedures, and standard processing times; review research performed by junior paralegals and legal assistants.
