The Senior Paralegal for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics will support the company's business operations in contract preparation and administration, and other special projects as assigned.

This position is part of the Legal Department located in Brea, California, and will be hybrid. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the Legal Transactional Team and report to the Manager of Legal responsible for legal review of various standard contracts. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Draft various standard contracts, including non-disclosure agreements, speaker agreements, independent contractor agreements, research grant agreements, and clinical research agreements, with legal review of revisions from external parties.

  • Engage with internal customers to discuss contract terms.

  • Maintain a library of forms and resources.

  • Conduct legal research as needed.

  • Apply problem-solving skills and judgment to manage corporate risk, identifying and promoting best practices for continuous improvement within the organization.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • BA/BS degree and paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience with contracts

  • Collaborate with business units, maintaining independent judgment and decision-making skills.

  • Apply analytical skills to interpret data and develop solutions for contract-related issues of basic scope and complexity.

  • Quickly acquire knowledge of new business activities and adapt to changing job requirements and priorities to meet dynamic workflow needs.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Contract support for a medical device company

  • Familiar with anti-kickback, HIPAA, clinical research, and medical device industry

The salary range for this role is $90,000-$110,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
