What we are looking for:

We are seeking an experienced Sr Solution Manager to support and accelerate growth of our Market Optimization Services business. As a Sr Solution Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development and evolution of innovative technology-enabled managed services that enable customers to optimize the economic value of battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar PV, and hybrid systems via wholesale power market participation and retail tariff optimization.

You will work with customers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and partners to deeply understand market needs, internal capabilities, identify and prioritize current and new offerings, and structure product and services into high-value combined solutions that drive business results and delight customers. You will be the champion of these optimization solutions and empower the organization to transact and deliver value to our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritization: Work with customers, partners, sales, operations, and product teams, to deeply understand market optimization challenges/needs and competition, identify and prioritize opportunities for current and new solution sets.

  • 'Whole Product' Development: Lead cross-functional efforts to ensure that current and new solution sets include all components needed for successful sales and deployment, including scope definition, contracts, pricing, value proposition / messaging and collateral, and customer support.

  • Define managed service SKUs that complement Stem's optimization products and deliver differentiated value to our customers.

  • Market Research and Customer Segmentation: Work closely with Product Marketing to conduct comprehensive market research, including industry trends, customer needs, and competitive analysis. Utilize this research to identify target market segments and develop customer segmentation strategies for your solutions.

  • Buyer/User Personas: Collaborate with Product Marketing to create detailed buyer and user personas for key target customer segments. Gain deep insights into the needs, preferences, and pain points of these personas to inform solution development and go-to-market strategies effectively.

  • Customer Experience Design: Ensure that your solutions deliver an exceptional customer experience. Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather customer feedback and iterate on solution designs to optimize customer satisfaction and engagement.

  • Provide internal training for our sales teams to enable them to understand the scope and value proposition of our optimization solution sets

  • Facilitate the creation and maintenance of high quality managed service and solution set documentation.

  • Foster a strong culture characterized by high-quality implementations, effective organizational communication, decisiveness and speed, constructive conflict resolution, and a can-do mentality.

  • Establish effective and collaborative cross-functional working relationships with peers.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in engineering or business.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a solution-oriented commercial role in the energy industry, with a preferred focus on managed services.

  • Demonstrated ability to deeply understand customer needs, identify and prioritize opportunities, and develop high-value solutions. Experience in customer experience design is a plus.

  • Experience working at, or providing services to, energy industry asset owners, IPPs, investors, and/or developers.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels and present complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.

  • Electric power industry domain experience with demonstrated understanding of wholesale power markets, and retail tariffs.

  • Experience defining business models and go-to-market strategies

  • Experience participating in and leading commercial discussions with customers' leadership teams

  • Extraordinary communication skills, and able to present on complex technical topics to non-technical audiences.

Job Location

This role is hybrid in our San Francisco, CA office.

Salary Range

$172,800.00 - $242,050.00
