What we're looking for:

The Senior Energy Optimization Analyst is responsible for developing optimization tools and analyzing asset performance for energy storage projects in coordination with the Dispatch Scheduler. Additionally they play a leading role in developing the operational strategy for all live assets in conjunction with the Director of Energy Market Optimization and the Dispatch Scheduler.

You will be hybrid out of our Boston office with some business travel to other locations. This role will report to the Director of Energy Markets Optimization.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and maintain analytical tool suite that enables internal storage optimization by working directly with data infrastructure team, data science team ,and forecasting team.

  • Analyze and track storage financial performance.

  • Develop and maintain storage financial performance reporting capabilities.

  • Inform and aid in shaping of operational strategies, across all active markets and project types, at both a seasonal and day-to-day level, assist Scheduler in fulfilling developed strategies.

  • Validate and assess storage revenue assumptions, through the lens of present market conditions and operational constraints.

  • Engage internal departments like BD, forecasting, capital markets, project finance on revenue assumptions and provide feedback on how to best model long term revenues.

  • In coordination with the Senior Energy Operations Associate, review regulatory sources to improve Nexamp's understanding of the energy storage operating environment and opportunities.

What you'll bring:

  • 2+ years work experience in a similar role.

  • Independently perform data analysis and employ basic statistical analysis.

  • Experience in communicating complicated concepts and datasets verbally, written, and visually.

  • Advanced Excel Knowledge, some knowledge of PowerBI, SQL, Python or Matlab.

  • Some experience in energy markets, sustainability sector, understanding energy regulations.

  • Working understanding of the physical considerations of energy storage systems is a plus.

  • Previous experience in analyzing renewable related state incentive programs or renewable ISO participation documentation.
