As part of a diverse and hardworking team of experts, you will oversee a portfolio of projects to drive the evolution of manufacturing Space Flight Systems with the intention of developing the art of the possible and re-establishing the new standard as we build or Road to Space. You will lead and share in the team's impact on all aspects of developing the next generation launch and space vehicles at our manufacturing facility at our Rocket Park Manufacturing Complex in Merritt Island, FL.

We are in search of an experienced Project Manager to support the evolution of our manufacturing systems at our Rocket Park Facility. This role will report directly to the Vice President of Manufacturing Operations. This individual will support the Manufacturing Leadership team in the deployment of Projects and coordinate with cross functional owners to successfully deploy Blue's Operations strategy to ensure the successful transition of launch vehicle manufacturing from development to the achievement of rate production. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. The project manager is responsible for the successful completion of their part of the larger program, this case the multiple projects which support the deployment of Blue's Operation Strategy. They keep team members on task, by supporting, communicating, and coordinating activities between supporting organizations involved on the project. They are also actively involved in schedule and risk reviews and ensuring project milestones/ deliverables are achieved on time and on budget. Project Managers support the planning of work packages and corresponding resource requirements and composition of the work breakdown structure (WBS). Project management uses processes, skills, tools, and knowledge to complete a planned project and achieve its goals. It differs from general management because of the limited scope of a project, concrete deadlines, and specific deliverables.

Senior Advisor to Vice President, Manufacturing Operations

As part of a growing, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will directly support the Vice President of New Glenn Manufacturing Operations. This includes a dynamic, large team involved in the development and implementation of art of the possible manufacturing and operations systems to build the road to space.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance using best-in-class knowledge of strategy, business insights and organizational structure.

  • Aid the Operations team in facilitating effective decision-making on complicated scenarios that will have a major effect on the organization.

  • High impact on the implementation of critical initiatives that carry out overarching organizational objectives.

  • Participate in regular meetings with the Operations VP and leadership team to evaluate organizational barriers to success and develop courses of action to overcome such issues.

  • Collaboratively responsible for effective, efficient, focused, and adaptive decision-making in a high-velocity, intense aerospace environment.

  • Ensure information is appropriately gathered, organized, rendered, and presented to maximize decision speed; ensure decisions are executed as intended; manage the capture, assignment, tracking, implementation, and institutionalization of actions for Operations VP.

  • Influence leadership to deliver on strategic business goals and objectives with a planned approach, on time and on target. Represent and provide operational support to the Operations VP and serve as strategic expert to a large, diverse, high value portfolio of projects/programs.

  • Collaborate with other members of the Operations VP's leadership team to align strategy or direction with the overall goals of the organization. Develop policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.

  • Maintain and manage strategic and tactical topical priorities; act as integrator connecting work streams that would otherwise remain siloed; manage the communication cadence and collaboratively develop content with the Operations VP and Rocket Park Leadership Team.

  • Coordinate Operations internal communications (e.g., company announcements, Quarterly Updates, all-hands presentations).

  • Identify, shape, and lead implementation of pivotal initiatives, e.g., deep dives in subject areas lacking single-threaded owners, emergent challenges

  • Lead change management activities to evaluate, coordinate, and approve new requirements or changes

Foundational Skills and Experience:

  • High judgment with high discretion: ability to be exposed to sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality

  • Well-developed project-management skills: organized and focused, showing attention to detail, and following up consistently to ensure results

  • Excellent attention to details; will manage both tactical and strategic-level information and manage all details. Excellent organization skills are a must.

  • Excellent "people skills" including ability to influence by persuasion without direct authority; when appropriate, ability to act with the authority (and style) of the VP

  • Business savvy, including an understanding of the marketplace, competitors, and technology and what is required for sustained operating results

  • Communication skills to collaborate with the VP and leadership team to help refine and implement written and verbal messaging (both "up" to executives and "down" to the workforce) to ensure that it is understood by the right audiences

  • Demonstrated domain experience operating within at least one corporate function (Engineering, Business Mgt, or Operations preferred

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preference toward Engineering Disciplines

  • 10 years of relevant program management/operational experience

  • Program Management Professional (PMP) certification and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience

  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, data

  • Ability to balance technical, business, and organizational influences

  • Demonstrated history of independent work, foreseeing problems, delivering on commitments, and accountability

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
