SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the management of all manufacturing operations for a designated product line or 'circuit'. Ensures the achievement of all production requirements, product quality requirements, on time delivery, all at budgeted levels. These objectives are achieved in part by delegating authority to Engineering, Information Systems, Purchasing, Melting and Casting, and Rolling departments. Responsible for motivating the Huntington production workforce. Responsible for and delivering results through; Lean Manufacturing techniques and philosophies, 5S, TOC, Six Sigma and problem solving.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee all aspects of order fulfilment. This includes ensuring sales orders are processed through all stages of fulfilment; this encompasses the specification group, product melting and casting, material allocations, scheduling and planning, finishing and shipping.

  • Establish and execute an annual operating budget for the product line. This budget includes sales forecasting and weekly production targets.

  • Actively work with the sales and commercial organization to optimize production output by identifying product sales opportunities that optimize both plant asset performance and profitability.

  • Maintain a continuous Improvement project pipeline with active high impact projects resulting in lower costs or improved safety.

  • Ensure that company safety policies are enforced. Participate in Division wide safety initiatives and development robust action plans to address safety issues in area of responsibility.

  • Accountable for all aspects of Product Line quality. This includes the timely disposition of defective material, orders needing re-made, and required administrative paperwork.

  • Achievement of stable production using TOC's, variable cost data, productivity data. Meet daily, weekly, and monthly production and revenue plan by maintaining best customer on-time delivery.

  • Ensure adherence to process control procedures, operating instructions, and all quality control instructions.

  • Formulate long and short-range strategies for continuous improvement of processes and equipment involved in product line manufacturing. Recommend purchases of new equipment for expansion, efficiency, cost reductions, quality or improvement.

  • Maintains and enhances a team environment and motivates the Huntington production workforce.

  • Mentor less Senior Circuit Managers.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • B.S. in Engineering required. Advanced degree a plus.

  • 7 to 10 years of extensive Manufacturing experience.

  • Extensive training in manufacturing, accounting, manufacturing processes leadership, group motivation and behavior.

  • Background in related area of Engineering, Operations, and Material Management.

  • Successful experience in related production operations. SPECIAL SKILLS

  • Computer competent in all elements of Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

  • Good understanding of budgeting and reporting.

  • Ability to review production costs and evaluate opportunities to lower material and production costs, reduce inventories, and increase quality.

  • Able to meet strict deadlines and be accountable for product delivery/quality/customer relations.

  • Comfortable using a team approach to problem solving.

  • Have strong sense of urgency.

  • Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently.

  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that gets along with customers, clients, co-workers and supervisors.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS MUST BE ABLE TO FREQUENTLY REMAIN IN A STATIONARY POSITION. MUST BE ABLE TO OCCASIONALLY MOVE ABOUT INSIDE THE OFFICE TO ACCESS FILE CABINETS, OFFICE MACHINERY, ETC. CONSTANTLY OPERATES A COMPUTER AND OTHER OFFICE PRODUCTIVITY MACHINERY, SUCH AS A CALCULATOR, COPY MACHINE, AND COMPUTER PRINTER.
