Summary of Job Scope and Expectations:

The Senior Operations Financial Analyst is responsible for working with Operations leaders in assigned Zone under the oversight of the Manager, Operations Finance to identify opportunities to enhance Operations financial performance. This position provides analytical support to Operations leadership in making critical operational and strategic decisions.

Descriptions

  • Proactively monitors operational performance to identify opportunities to enhance financial performance and profitability.

  • Under the oversight of the Manager, Operations Finance, works with Operations leader (Zone VP in one Zone) to provide financial analysis that drives operating efficiencies and sales growth.

  • Develops financial and statistical models to identify key performance indicators and improve performance; conducts in-depth financial analysis that provides increasing levels of insight into business decisions

  • Partners with Operations and Support Center teams in determining financial impact of new Operations initiatives. Ensures financially sound Operations business decisions.

  • Trains Operations leaders (GM through Regional Director Operations) on financial tools related to labor and food costs to help Operations maximize profitability.

  • Works on ad hoc projects with Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and Operations experience as Area Coach of Ops or Multi-Unit Manager

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field required; MBA desirable

  • Minimum five years of combined finance and Operations experience, preferably in a multi-entity, multi-state retail/hospitality environment

  • Successful completion of annual store training

Aids organization with financial functions, such as assessing, auditing, planning, budgeting, taxes, consolidation, cost control, and project control. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Evaluates and analyzes a variety of financial results and indicators such as capital expenditures, depreciation, proposals, investment opportunities, rate of return, profit plans, operating records, financial statements, etc. requiring advanced expertise. Compiles budgetary and fiscal data received from assigned departments to prepare revenue balance statements and historical comparisons of departmental expenditures with requested appropriations. Completes complex analysis of records of present and past operations, trends and costs, estimated and realized revenues, administrative commitments, and obligations incurred to project future revenues and expenses. Conducts special studies as assigned to support senior management. Develops presentations of findings and results. Advises management on matters, such as effective use of resources and assumptions underlying budget forecasts. Interprets budgets to management. Prepares reports analyzing specific aspects of department structures, functions and operational procedures and recommends ways to improve efficiency and/or effectiveness. Performs other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May lead project teams and/or plan staff assignments. Duties may encompass technical guidance and/or training of co-workers as well as policy development and participation in special initiatives such as modeling, system implementations or acquisition integrations.
