About the Role:

The Senior Operations Analyst, Programs role will work closely with the Portfolio Solutions Group (PSG) to provide technical and operational support for Ascot's growing Programs business. The role will involve facilitating the flow of Programs business into the underwriting system, while ensuring all service level agreements are met and processing is completed accurately & efficiently. This role will be part of the Operations teams; and will liaise with individuals across multiple business and functional areas including Portfolio Solutions, Systems, Finance Underwriting, Reinsurance and Claims. The ideal candidate should have an in-depth understanding of the insurance industry, be a creative problem-solver with a skillset for navigating systems, working with data and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Engage with the PSG team to fully understand their products and processes to better support their operational needs.

  • Actively track and organize the flow of bordereau reports received from the various MGA/MGU partners across all Programs.

  • Manage and handle the bordereau data uploads into the Ascot Policy admin system.

  • Ensure strong data quality controls and validate the bordereau data uploads to ensure accuracy.

  • Troubleshoot bordereau data issues and work closely with Systems teams, Portfolio Solutions and various functional areas to rectify, as needed.

  • Proactively communicate with Systems and the business to verify changes and make sure all parties are aligned.

  • Partner with Portfolio Solutions and Systems team to test new Program bordereau files and ensure bordereau files meet Ascot's operational requirements.

  • Ensure timely and thorough data reconciliations in compliance with audit requirements.

  • Process/bind Program policy premiums in our policy admin system as needed.

  • Process Facultative reinsurance certificates in our policy admin system as needed.

  • Manage business relations with the program MGA's Operations teams to ensure premium data deliverables are timely and accurate and to resolve queries.

  • Support the PSG team with data analysis required to manage programs.

  • Provide internal ad hoc reports and other data-related requirements as requested.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related or similar discipline.

  • 4-5 years experience in an analytical role.

  • In-depth understanding of the insurance industry.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel with a proficient understanding of how to use its data analysis tools (i.e. formulas, pivot tables, look-ups)

  • Ability to handle large volumes of data and experience with data reconciliation.

  • Good understanding of SQL and PowerBI preferred.

  • Strong computer and typing skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Focused eye for detail and accuracy.

  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Takes initiative, is resilient, and quickly adapts to new and evolving situations.

  • Desire to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment.

Compensation

Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, and skills. The base pay is just one component of Ascot's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, long-term incentives, and other forms of discretionary compensation awarded by the Company.

The annualized base pay range for this role is: $65,000 - $75,000 (for New York Metropolitan area based employees).
