POSITION SUMMARY

We are currently seeking a Senior Operational Excellence Engineer that will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of projects and training efforts associated with the Lean/Continuous Improvement transformation and sustainment initiatives on a global basis across all segments and businesses of Matthews International. This role ensures a focus on safety, quality, and delivery to provide sustained operational improvements. The position is also instrumental in achieving targeted annualized cost goals and related cost reductions from lean, strategic sourcing, intelligent manufacturing, and capital strategy initiatives.

  • Leading further development and deployment of lean tools and frameworks for all business segments across Matthews International on a global basis

  • Developing value stream data to identify areas of waste within the office and manufacturing processes

  • Planning, directing, and coordinating activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished. Also, mentoring, coaching, training and developing teams

  • Safety, 5-s, and continuously improving

  • Leading Kaizen events

DO YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH:

  • Developing and executing value stream mapping

  • Overseeing the planning and analysis of workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules

  • Analyzing and planning workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data to determine efficient utilization of workers and equipment

  • Ensures that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters

  • Collaborating with vendors to determine product specifications and arranges for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards

  • Plans utilization of facilities equipment, materials, and personnel to improve the efficiency of operations

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field

  • 5+ years progressive lean management experience required

  • Travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally up to 50%+

  • A high degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications

  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)

  • Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts

  • Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients

  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.

  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management

  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting

YOUR OPPORTUNITY: Project Engineer - Electrical Engineer - Wexford, Beaver Join a multi-disciplinary, experienced team with a portfolio of challenging, highly visible projects. These range from the largest and one of the first public-private partnerships for the U.S. compressed natural gas transit fueling to the largest single stream recycling facility in the United States, all requiring an exceptionally high level of experience, technical know-how, and good judgment. We are searching for a Professional Engineer who has who has the right type of experience with designing complex buildings, building systems, and industrial facilities in support of our clients' unique business ventures. Our project engineers are responsible for the technical accuracy of the project and but also need strong people skills as both a reliable team member and mentor for junior engineers, designers, and technical staff. Your Typical Duties: * Perform lead engineer role on small and moderately complex projects and is responsible for all technical aspects of the project and overall completeness and quality of work. Must be able to act as Engineer of Record under the supervision of senior staff. * Write and edit technical specifications * Responsible for coordinating submittals, RFI, and other aspects of construction administration * Manage single discipline projects or specific discipline of a multi-disciplined project. * Maintain client contact and provide regular progress reports. * Prepare neat and organized design calculations. * Assist Supervisor, Project Managers, Senior Professionals or Senior Engineers with QA/QC responsibilities by performing and maintaining internal and contract required QA/QC reviews of submissions, plans and/or design calculations when requested. * Review and assist with management of project budgets.
