The Role …

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Technician to join our Information Technology team. In this role, you will oversee and manage the comprehensive network infrastructure of the organization. This pivotal role involves installing, operating, maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting a wide array of computer, network, and security systems. Responsibilities span firewalls, cybersecurity endpoints, network hardware and software, cabling, telecommunications, LANs, WANs, internet, intranets, and extranets.

In addition to maintaining network stability and security, you will monitor daily operations to ensure peak performance, offering strategic recommendations for enhancements to optimize network efficiencies and security protocols. Providing essential technical support and guidance to staff members is integral to the role, requiring you to stay updated on emerging network and cybersecurity technologies. This position is located at our Secaucus, NJ office, and has the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule.

Your Responsibilities …

  • Design, install, and maintain well-functioning computer network systems including firewalls, network software and hardware, cable management, telecommunications, LANs and WANs, internet, intranets, and extranets

  • o Monitor and maintain servers and networking equipment within the data center

  • o Maintain network quality standards to achieve optimal levels of operation and KPI targets

  • o Establish tools and procedures to monitor network performance

  • o Track and monitor network traffic and performance to ensure minimal interruption to network transmission and/or network switches

  • o Perform troubleshooting for system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long-term efficiency of the network

  • o Analyze, design, test, maintain, monitor, support, and implement WAN/LAN, internet, and intranet using Cisco, Dell, HP, SonicWall, and vSphere technologies including security measures and redundancy options

  • Assign, track, and resolve 2nd level technical service requests received through the virtual corporate Help Desk within the guidelines of the service level agreement (End-User Support)

  • Maintain and support Remote Management Platform software

  • Acts as:

  • o E-Mail Administrator (Google Enterprise Hosted)

  • o Windows Operating System & Server Expert

  • o Active Directory Administrator

  • o Group Policy Administrator

  • o VMWARE Administrator

  • o Cyber Security Administrator

  • Participate in IT hardware/software budget preparation including support contracts and renewals

  • Ensure 24x7 availability of Network Infrastructure

  • Work flexible hours as needed and respond immediately to emergency outages

  • Keep abreast of emerging network and cyber-security technologies and make recommendations for improvements and performance optimization

Requirements

  • 6+ years of proven related experience in Network Infrastructure and a Cybersecurity Certification; Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field a plus

  • Certified Network Professional accreditation (MSP/MSCE a plus)

  • Experience supporting Microsoft Desktop/Laptops, Apple technologies devices and network connectivity

  • Advanced iOS and Android mobile device knowledge and experience with Master Data Management (MDM) solutions

  • Proficient With Symantec Endpoint (full disk encryption, antivirus) and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for endpoint management and software delivery

  • Skilled in Firewall Management

  • Adept in Layer 2/Layer 3 networking (Cisco Cloud Management)

  • Working knowledge of the following:

  • o Layer 2/3 Networking

  • o Wireless Technology (Integration with Active Directory)

  • o Active Directory Services (Security Enforcement)

  • o Firewall Configuration and Management (Internet and Local Security); SonicWall appliance knowledge preferred

  • o Domain Controllers

  • o Cloud Computing

  • o Enterprise G-Suite Experience

  • o Windows Operating Systems (MSP Preferred)

  • o Remote Desktop Services (RDS); experience with Gateway and Broker

  • o sFTP/FTP/FTPs/HTTP/HTTPS

  • o VMware 8.0 Experience

  • o Management of Security Applications (EDR, RMM, etc. preferred)

  • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and analytical skills coupled with effective communication and teamwork abilities

  • Aptitude for customer support

  • Adhere to and uphold high-level confidentiality procedures and protocols

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (servers, switches, etc.)

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of the following:
  • o Laptop and Desktop Configuration (SysPrep and Deployment)
  • o Linux and HP UNIX Operating Systems
  • o VoIP phone systems
  • o Handle Hosted Vendors/Partners' experience
