Lockheed Martin is looking for a dedicated Senior Network Systems Engineer to join the Satellite Engineering, Operations & Sustainment Support (SEOSS) OPIR NGG team. In this role, you will be key to ensuring the successful establishment of OPIR NGG operations facilities with cross-functional interaction with the OPIR team as a whole. This position works closely with the functional leads to perform network systems engineering and integration to support the organization.

As a Senior Network Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Plan, develop, and establish system architecture and integrate network equipment, protocols, and concepts into operational capabilities

  • Perform system analysis and interface definition and management/ execution

  • Participate in studies and system trades for enhanced capabilities

  • Perform systems/hardware integration, test planning and execution

  • Develop plans to on-ramp new mission capabilities while protecting the primary mission

  • Participate in and coordinate design reviews and technical product reviews

  • Participate in failure investigations and anomaly resolution boards

Typically has 5 - 10 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience in Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline experience with knowledge of Systems Engineering concepts and processes

  • Experience with one or more Systems Integration functions including:

a.) System trade studies and/or System modeling

b.) Requirements and Interface Control Document (ICD) development

c.) System Integration, Test and/or Verification

d.) Test planning and execution with an understanding of all the interdependencies

  • Knowledge of the Systems Engineering process including trade studies, design reviews and system verification

  • Willing to do minimal travel if required

  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

Desired Skills:

  • DoD 8570 Level 2 certified

  • Network encryption experience

  • 3+ years with network development, integration, and test, with knowledge of space, missile and launch systems at the component through system level

  • System design and test experience with one or more subsystems or disciplines outside of Systems Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Propulsion, RF, Software, etc.)

  • Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and logically formulate solutions for execution on an inflexible schedule, often requiring integration of conflicting and, at times, incomplete data

  • Experience ensuring the physical and functional compatibility of hardware/software products throughout the full lifecycle of the program

  • Ability to interact with hardware and software developers to ensure mission requirements are satisfied

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications with strong presentation skills and capable of briefing audiences of varying technical knowledge

  • Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and take on numerous roles as part of the daily program operations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members

  • Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker with the ability to select and apply appropriate systems thinking skills to solve problems and implement constructive change

  • Active Secret security clearance
