The Role

ANS is seeking a Senior Network Operations Engineer to support our Mission-critical customer in Culpeper, VA.

Responsibilities

  • Provides Tier 3 support to the Network Operations Center (NOC).

  • Supports an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), customer networks, Intranet and Internet and other data communications systems or a segment of a network system.

  • Monitors network to ensure availability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability

  • Maintains network hardware and software.

  • Proactively identify risks in the network and develop a plan to mitigate them.

  • Provides support of numerous business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice and Video).

Requirements

  • Candidate must have a total of 10 years of applicable experience. The experience can be a combination of degree and work history. This can be a High School degree and 10 years of work history OR an Associate's and 8 years, a Bachelors' and 6 years, a Masters and 4 years or a PhD and 0 years of work history.

  • Advanced networking qualifications including MPLS, BGP, OSPF, LAMBDA.

  • LAN/MAN/WAN/Optical specialization.

  • Utilization of common ticket systems (Remedy, ServiceNow) and common network management tools (HPOV, HPNA, Solarwinds, MNS, Netcool, etc).

  • Candidate must have hands-on troubleshooting and fault isolation of IT business systems.

  • Applicant must have a strong understanding of the OSI model and configuration of routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, BGP, LDP.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph; this position requires ability to satisfy a government administered high risk screening.

  • Desired certifications include: Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Juniper JNCIA, JNCIS, or JNCIE, ITIL Foundations, and/or CISSP

The Data Center Infrastructre Management team is a diverse group that has a high work load and many opportunities to contribute to the overall mission of SWIFT. Within the organization the DCIM (Data Centre Infrastructure Management) group is seeking a candidate who can perform infrastructure/structured cabling work that includes; installation, service and maintenance, repair and alteration of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling and other various low voltage cabling systems. You will complete physical installations and removal of structured cabling components, cabinets, pathway systems (cable tray), move equipment, racks, and related communications infrastructure materials. This requires you to work in an environment with high quality standards, change management and strict operational procedures. The ideal candidate will be able to meet the physical demands of the work and provide excellent customer service. Responsibilities * Perform installation and service of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic cabling, communications cabling, communication equipment and other various low voltage related systems such as Category 5, Enhanced Category 5, Category 6 and Fiber Optic Structured Cable Distribution Systems. * Evaluate, diagnose, troubleshoot cabling infrastructure and perform repairs as needed. * Perform upgrades and additions to cabling infrastructure in order to increase functionality and usability. * In liaison with support areas, participate in the resolution of customer requests with limited to moderate complexity for new and/or modified network infrastructure. * Provide regular progress reports on ongoing installations to all stakeholders. * Install and prepare servers with basic hardware configurations; de-install obsolete hardware * Attend required calls/meetings. * Rotate in an on-call schedule as to respond to and resolve issues outside normal business hours - Maximum 60 minutes travelling time Qualifications Minimum Qualifications * 2 year degree or equivalent in technology services/technical discipline, or equivalent work experience * Minimum 2 years' experience as an installation technician in delivering structured networking components in a mission critical environment * Proven ability to install, terminate & test low voltage cables & fiber optical cables to include twisted pair cable, coax, power limited tray cable, stranded & solid conductor low voltage cable, single mode & multi-mode fiber optical cables. * Comprehension of terminology pertaining to installation & service of cabling infrastructure for telecom, data, security & wireless systems. * Good oral/written communication skills and familiar with MS Office applications What we offer We put you in control of your career We give you a competitive package We help you perform at your best We help you make a difference We give you the freedom to be yourself Company & department description SWIFT does not stand still.
