What you'll be doing...

Description:

The Eng-IV Systems is responsible for the advanced operation and maintenance of a complex multivendor nationwide network, ensuring network integrity and quality. The Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting end to end issues on an ever changing network.

This troubleshooting consists of a combination of working directly on devices, observing and interpreting data from tools, and coordinating with other internal and external teams towards resolution.

Working closely with Cross Functional Teams and vendors collaborating on optimal solutions for current and future MPN infrastructure and solutions

Strong analytic, interpersonal and communication skills are required

Advance troubleshooting skills

Proven problem solving abilities

Proven leadership abilities

Strong project management skills

Minimum supervision over work product. Works independently on routine and non-routine research and reporting functions.

  • CCNA, JCNIA or equivalent certification

  • Proactively looking for areas to improve overall network performance. Finding and resolving system issues on the network by utilizing traditional and non-traditional means.

  • Providing leadership and direction to your team as well as other network teams.

  • Interacting with cross-functional teams to deploy and optimize components for best efficiency and reliability.

  • Minimum 3-5 Years' experience in the wireless Industry

  • Advanced broad technical leadership skills in the current wireless environment

  • Recognized by peers as a technical leader

  • Strong presentation skills

  • RHCE or equivalent experience

  • Technical triage and crisis management skills are a must

  • Clear & concise communication skills required

  • Ability to Command and Control outage bridges

  • Expert ability to sectionalize troubleshooting

  • Detailed knowledge of Verizon MPN Architecture and feature set is vital

  • Strong understanding of VZW EPC tools. (SevOne, IrisView, NetScout)

  • Utilize internal and external performance tools to troubleshoot customer issues and reduce both MTTR and MTTI (SevOne, NetScout, Wireshark, Irisview Suite)

  • Candidate should have a strong detailed understanding of End to End call flows for:1X, EVDO, LTE, IMS, and CDS/ ASP Applications, VoLTE, MPN

Experience in data presentation (Tableau) or demonstrable programming/automation experience is desired.

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

Even Better if You Have:

The successful candidate will be responsible providing technical leadership for the IP Edge Engineering Team as they work to complete key imperatives for 2019 including: * eNSE migration, ISP Growth,MSE Migration, VTS/DCNM Upgrades, VCP Edge Migrations, Access site migrations to segment routing. * Provide leadership and guidance to Engineers within their respective IP Edge Engineering team. * Take an active role in leading team members through the technology transformation process. * Provide team members with technical and project guidance, including MOP development and creation, project planning and "first run" MOP Reviews. * Provide management with engineering support for key initiatives and budget maintenance. * Assume acting manager responsibilities, as requested. * Collaborate with peers and other stakeholders for the purpose of driving initiatives and schedule dates. * Partner with Territory Planning and IP Edge Leads to ensure expectations are understood. * Freely distribute information regarding FOAs, outages, designs or any other relevant topics across all teams. * Engineering Layer 1-3 for Edge. * Project oversight and ownership. * Oversees network builds. * Strong Interaction with design and architecture teams developing future networks. * Implement network configurations from design models and templates. * Work on cross functional teams to develop network automation using Python, NSO, Ansible, and other tools like DCNM, VTS, Pronghorn, NSO, and Nuage. * Work with cross functional teams to ensure new networks are built, migrated and, and decommissioned in accordance with our Engineering Excellence principles. * Work on engineering and deploying directional networks for Intelligent Edge, including but not limited to SAP ENSE Fabric, Access ENSE fabric, ISP, NNI and Core connectivity. * Build networks for interconnection to VCP platforms for growth, capacity and expansion. * Engineer network solutions with a strong interaction with PNF and VNF applications teams. * Continuously track plans with peers and key stakeholders while providing directional leadership with clear prioritization to adjust the plan for any required changes in business initiatives. * Serves as the advocate, coordinator, facilitator, and central point of contact for the IP Edge team. What we're looking for... You'll need to have: * Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience. * Six or more years of relevant work experience. * Wireless industry experience. Even better if you have: * A degree. * Experience working in the modern IP fabric based networks (Network fabric, underlay/overlay. Some exposure in VXLAN and Segment routing). * Five or more years of experience configuring routers, switches and related network equipment. * Experience inCisco Carrier Routing Systems (CRS), Cisco ASR, Cisco 12K, 3945, Nexus 7K, 7200XVR; Juniper MX-480, MX-960, ALU router products, F5 and A10 Load Balancer. * Operating Systems: IOS, XR-IOS, NX-OS, JunOS, Nokia OS. * Strong interpersonal and communications/presentation skills. * Ability to understand end to end call flows for deploying network services. * Ability to lead the IP Edge Engineering team through to the completion of the eNSE migration project, oversee migration activities and assist with CIQ and template review.
