Senior Network Engineer

Job Description

Ensure the operation of the network (LAN and WAN), including the infrastructure and associated software/applications. Works on mid-level problems surrounding the planning, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all hardware and software. Works within the global concepts set forth by the company.

Responsibilities

• Analyze availability, access (user accounts and permissions at the LAN and WAN components), and complex performance issues as found during monitoring or as reported by customers. This includes on-call availability for 24x7 operation.

• Monitor network components (LAN and WAN) to ensure availability and test backup, recovery, and emergency procedures.

• Install and configure mid-level network components (LAN and WAN) following the global concepts. This includes high availability implementations and complex installations.

• Coordinate and implement the migrations related to network components (LAN and WAN), including their infrastructure and associated software/applications (version, service pack, hotfix releases, firmware, etc.)

• Participate in global and regional initiatives and self-checks such as security audits, change management, incident management, asset management, run and operation tasks.

• Practice network (LAN and WAN) asset management, including maintenance of their component

inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.

• Follow all service level agreements established with customers.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or 8 years of commensurate experience in lieu of degree

• Experience / Technical understanding of LAN and internet connectivity technologies,including multiple network operating systems (IOS, HP OS, NX-OS), Hardware platforms such as Cisco Nexus, ACI (a plus), and Cisco Catalyst platform. General understanding of VMware and NSX.

• Network Protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, IPSEC) and Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF)

• Working technical experience with installing, configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting, and supporting network components (LAN and WAN

environment)

• On-call availability for 24/7 operation

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Certification (CCNP, CCDP, CCNA)

• Industry-related experience as a Senior Network Engineer.

• Solid Understanding of network operating systems (Cisco IOS, FortiOS)

• Additional network/LAN/WAN certifications.
