We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer passionate about IT to join our Technical Operations team as a result of NMIs continued growth and investment in the underlying systems.

The Technical Operations team is responsible for the running of all hardware and software within the production and office environment. This consists of a WAN connecting different sites over the globe which has to be highly available 24x7.

This role will focus on maintenance of the global network which connects our data-centers and the core of our platform. In this role, you will monitor and maintain the network whilst helping with the design and migration of the platform to the next generation.

There is an out of hours on-call rota that will require the Senior Network Engineer to respond to and resolve or escalate any network related problems within the SLA.

  • Manage and monitor all network devices
  • Assist in designing network architecture
  • Hardware lifecycle management
  • Firewall / Switching configuration reviews
  • On-Call for network related incidents
  • Test and document the network performance
  • Configure effective routing policies and procedures and reconfigure policies to ensure best performance
  • Incident root cause analysis; solutions to prevent future network outages


Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience of network devices (Preferably Juniper)
  • JNCIS and above
  • Strong knowledge of routing protocols
  • Understanding network security (firewalls and IDS) design and implementation.
  • Network design
  • Cloud network design and management (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • SRX Clustering

Preferred Qualifications/Experience

  • F5 LTM load balancers
  • IPS security devices
  • DDoS mitigation solutions and design methodologies.
  • DevOps and Automation / Scripting

We are seeking experience architecting or designing solutions in a significant Cisco Nexus environment (5K, 7K and/or 9K Nexus product) as our primary focus. The Sr. IS Network Engineer will also act as vendor interface for support of applications and technologies and evaluate and drive implementation for new technologies, policies, and procedures for business network operations. Location Note: This role can be performed in any UScellular business office within our operating footprint. Essential Functions * Act as project lead for IS network infrastructure implementation projects. * Implements technology and IS network infrastructure changes * Collaborates with partner organizations/departments to engineer cross-functional solutions for IS network infrastructure * Evaluates new product/solutions for inclusion in the IS network * Identify changes needed in the IS network infrastructure configuration to achieve the organization's technology goals * Key contributor to the IS network infrastructure strategy reviews and development by performing applicable analysis * Analyzes network & system response and determines tuning recommendations to improve performance * Interfaces with the vendors' senior technical staff/management on critical/escalated network and system related outages * Administer effective issue identification and resolution process; serve as the focal point for IS network infrastructure-related issue / crisis resolution. Senior escalation point for all IS network infrastructure-related issues * Actively maintains our current network infrastructure to expedite the resolution process * Perform 24x7 advanced tier troubleshooting, including off-hour maintenance activities, problem resolution, and on-call * Research current industry technology to better facilitate vendor and partner communications * Subject Matter Expert (SME) for relevant technologies * Actively mentors other network engineering staff.
