Responsibilities
Manage firewalls, data security systems, and network monitoring/alerting solutions to keep data and communications protected while proactively alerting on issues.
Identify, document, and validate compliance of network and infrastructure security best practices
Plan and implement new systems, upgrades and patching while adhering to best practices
Advise on the expansion of current infrastructure including cloud opportunities to meet the evolving demands of the business
Maintain infrastructure for networking, storage, and compute with focus for minimal downtime
Monitor infrastructure and making recommendations to improve network performance for all systems
Troubleshoot, resolve, and communicate networking issues to IT team members
Recommend and implement disaster recovery procedures and solutions
Grow current knowledge and understanding of security, networking, and infrastructure best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
Help mentor staff in their project initiatives
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Working knowledge of ITIL concepts and best practices with emphasis on Data Center practices
Solid background in network administration and architecture
Working knowledge of infrastructure technologies including but not limited to:
Hyperconverged Infrastructure
Virtualization
Enterprise network configuration and management including SD-WAN
Advanced Firewall Management
Enterprise Data Protection and retention solutions
Network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools
Microsoft server
Azure and Office 365
Knowledge of coding languages for scripting / automation (PowerShell, Python)
Ability to work with people at all levels in the organization, in addition to consultants and vendors
Ability to work independently and with minimal direct guidance
Persistence in resolving issues without becoming upset or overly frustrated
Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot issues and identify resolutions
Ability to:
work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
to balance multiple shifting priorities and deadlines
work from end results backwards to determine the best course of action for problem solving
exhibit positive "Can Do" attitude
to be available outside of normal business hours to resolve business issues and for on-call rotation.
