Responsible for the operations and maintenance, patching and upgrades of all Linux based systems on the current and future Operations, Disaster Recovery and Non-Production Environments. The System Administrator is responsible for ensuring compliance with all DISA STIG requirements and maintaining the security posture of all systems under management. The System Administrator is responsible for ensuring the availability and integrity of the platforms and implementing DevOps practices for seamless operations.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with all aspects of installing and maintaining Linux/Unix servers.

  • Assist with the development of system architectures and project plans.

  • Ability to design, build, configure, secure, and deploy Linux/Unix based operating systems

  • Analyze system performance and manage system resources to provide optimal configuration of available resources

  • Ability to analyze system vulnerabilities and apply patches and corrective actions to eliminate risk

  • Strong understanding of secured environments, NIST and DISA STIG requirements, and the ability to implement solutions to provide a hardened platform compliant with aforementioned standards

  • Competent to work at a technical level on all phases of application administration activities.

  • Excellent communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through.

  • Must be a consummate professional in both demeanor and attire.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Develops and maintain documentation such as SOPs on existing and new applications.

Education:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Qualifications:

  • Must have an active Top Secret security clearance, with eligibility for SCI clearance

  • Must have 5-8 years of directly related experience in network analysis and administration

  • Must have a DoD 8570 IAT Levell II certification (Security+ CE) or higher

  • Must have a Computing Environment certification in compliance with Army Training & Certification Tracking System (ATCTS) requirements at time of hire.

  • Must have working knowledge and hands-on experience with the following:

Open LDAP

RSA SecurID or

Cisco and Juniper devices

Cisco ACS or Cisco ISE

Load Balancers

Riverbed Performance tools

InfoVista Performance tools

BMC tools (such as BBNA, BBSA, ADDM)

Red Hat Linux, Solaris, and Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012 operating systems

IBM Tivoli Netcool Monitoring tool (to include strong knowledge of SNMP)

Single Sign On (SSO) Portal tool integration and administration

Business Objects/Crystal Reports

Remedy Ticketing System

Provides expert level analysis of voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices. 2. Must have thorough working knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6 networks, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, MCLAG, QOS, VLANs, and 802.1x network access control. Experience with SDN, Juniper IP Fabric, and Juniper Fusion a plus. 3. Experience providing Tier 3 engineering and administrator of Juniper network equipment. Specifically, installation and configuration of Juniper EX, QFX switches, JunOS Space, and SRX firewall hardware 4. Experience Evaluating, Designing, and Implementing Network and Security Technologies. 5. Provides technical support and troubleshooting to users. Must have experience providing Tier3 Network Engineering support to Government Agencies Network/Security Operations Centers 6. Experience conducting tests and evaluations of network and security products. 7. Experience configuring, maintaining, testing, and installing JUNOS patches and performing JUNOS code upgrades on Juniper network and security hardware. 8. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel and may have supervisory responsibilities. 9. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. 10. Ability to write and document, network change requests, weekly activities and provide monthly status report input. 11. Willingness to support Network Maintenance activities after hours. (Occasional night and weekend support is required.) 12. Serves as technical team or task leader. 13. Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments. 14.
