The Senior Network engineer will join our IT Systems Operations team. This role will provide efficient and creative network engineering approaches for our IT Infrastructure and Cloud Services.
The role will also take on configuration and maintenance of existing network components, as well as upgrades, incident-handling, change requests and monitoring for network reliability and security. The Senior Engineer will monitor day-to-day network performance, troubleshoot network problems and outages, participate in scheduled upgrades and collaborate with network providers/partners when there's a critical IT outage.
All incumbents are responsible for following applicable Division & Company policies and procedures.
Scope of Authority - span of control (work unit, site, department, division, etc.), monetary value of budget/spend authority ( capital, operating, etc.), P&L responsibility, etc.
Employee will oversee all networking efforts across the organization and subsidiaries, including work efforts by other networking personnel as well as vendor management and spend.
Key Accountabilities - key outcomes/deliverables, the major responsibilities, and % of time

Perform configurations and installations of networking technologies.
Report on utilization, spend and future capacity planning.
Plan the implementation and change of installation projects and upgrades.
Oversee the management and health of the enterprise network.
Ensure proper monitoring is in place and process to correct issues by all team members including on-call rotation with other team members.
Review and understand business and application requirements.
Education & Experience
Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience and certifications required for the job
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in an information technology related field or equivalent years of IT Networking Experience.
Required Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
Minimum 10 years' experience in an IT networking role.
8+ years of hands on experience with Cisco hardware and software including with Cisco Nexus 7K/2k, Catalyst 9k/4500/3800/2900, Cisco ISE and Cisco Wireless LAN controllers.
Strong expertise in manage routers running BGP, EIGRP & OSPF.
Vendor Management in managing network carriers and external partners for monitoring contractual obligations, performance delivery and service level agreements.
Professional experience implementing and supporting cloud services (AWS and Azure), modern data center architectures, Software Defined Networks (SDN) with a broad knowledge of current IT infrastructure and cloud services trends.
Proficiency in a body of information required for the job
e.g. knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP/GLP/GCP, Lean Manufacturing, Six-Sigma, etc.
A solid networking knowledge (routing and switching) foundation, with an in-depth understanding of network protocols and applications, such as EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, SSL/TLS/Encryption, Multicast, SNMP, Netflow, etc.
Deploy, maintain, and continually optimize network and firewall configurations for the on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure.
Utilizes knowledge to monitor, and troubleshoot to resolve requests, problems and outages in a timely and effective manner with assistance from vendors and in-house resources; guides and mentors other members of IT organization.
Proactively analyze existing network and application architectures and behaviors to identify improvements to better support strategic initiatives.
Strong background in wireless communication design, configuration and support.
Provide technical expertise and support for load balancers on premise and in cloud.
Architecture design knowledge with developing a High Availability and Disaster recovery network for business critical applications.
Have Knowledge in deploying and maintaining controls within various public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and Google).

Ability to respond to issues and concerns 24 hours a day; ability to work additional hours; and flexibility to travel, domestically and internationally 10% of time with periods in excess of three weeks.
Demonstrated presentation skills; demonstrated planning and organizational skills/knowledge.
Identify, diagnose, and resolve network-related service problems.
Physical & mental requirements e.g. lift 40 pounds, walk across plant/warehouse, business travel (% of time), driving as part of work responsibilities, etc.
Able to lift 40lbs as required.
Business travel, domestic and abroad of no more than 25%.
