About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer with a robust background in cloud environments to design, implement, and manage our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in networking principles, cloud architecture, and best practices for network configuration, reliability, monitoring and security. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure our network is scalable, reliable, and secure.
What You'll Do
Design, deploy, and manage advanced network solutions in both on-premises and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Configure and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and other network devices.
Develop and implement network security policies, procedures, and practices.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
Collaborate with DevOps and IT teams to integrate network solutions with cloud-based applications and services.
Automate network operations and processes using scripts and tools.
Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers.
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in network technology and cloud computing.
Document network designs, configurations, and procedures.
Offer Tier 2 support during network impacting outages, performance issues, and other related troubles
Work as part of an on-call resource rotation for after hours support.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in network engineering, with at least 3 years focused on cloud architecture.
Must have experience with network protocols, including but not limited to: OSPF, RADIUS, TACACS, STP, MPLS, etc.
Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.).
In-depth understanding of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, etc.).
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related networking services.
Strong knowledge of network security principles and practices.
Experience with network automation tools and scripting languages (Python, Ansible, etc.).
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, PCNSE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly desirable.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
