Job Description

The Network Projects team is the projects oriented implementation arm of the Norfolk Southern Network team. The position would be based at Norfolk Southern in the 1200 Peachtree Street building in Atlanta.

Education: 4-yr College Degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred.

Experience Required:
10 years hands-on experience

Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, 802.11 wireless

Certification or hands-on working knowledge with demonstrable expertise in:

TCP/IP, Multicast, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, frame-relay, MPLS

VOIP, QoS, Telepresence

Wireless (Aruba)

ACL, DNS/DHCP, Cisco ASA VPN

BigIP/F5, Infoblox, Airwave, nGenius/NetScout, Loglogic, Sniffers

HP (NNMi, Network Automation, Operations Orchestration) or similar.

Skills Required:

Project Management requirements gathering, organization, tracking, and status reporting

Strong problem-solving skills

Good verbal and written communication skills

Strong teamwork ethic and customer support focus

Strong knowledge of Cisco & Aruba 802.11 Wireless product lines

Detail oriented engineering analysis, configuration, & documentation

Organizational ability & experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

A dependable self-driven network resource

The successful candidate will be become a member of a Network Projects team within NS IT. The candidate's primary responsibility will be implementing data network solutions in a primarily CISCO network environment.

The candidate will be expected to analyze complicated systems, document application standards, and assure high levels of stability, reliability, and availability of the production network environment, consistent with established change control policies, standards, and project management. Candidate will be expected to write project documentation and to create or maintain network documentation.
