Overview
Overview The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the architecture, design, availability, maintenance, support, documentation, backup, security, and overall subject matter expertise of the following systems, broken into three categories: Office Headquarters Networking, Azure Infrastructure Networking, and Multi-site, multi-cloud networking along with additional duties.
Responsibilities
Office Headquarters Networking:
Internet connections
Wiring Fiber & copper
Firewalls
NAT and Security Policies
Core, distribution, and access switches
Routing, VRRP
VLANs
Load balancers
WAPS/Wireless Network
Traffic analysis and diagnostics
System VPN Gateways and point-to-point tunnels
User VPN gateways (client-based and clientless)
DHCP
Internal and external DNS
Azure Infrastructure Networking:
VNETs
Subnets
Network security groups
Route tables
Virtual network gateways
Load balancers
Multi-site, Multi-cloud Networking:
Remote site, satellite office firewalls and switches
Connectivity between multiple cloud infrastructure environments such as Azure to Azure, Azure to AWS, Azure to Google Cloud, etc..
Connectivity between WWF network and vendor private networks
Other Duties:
Vendor management of internet service providers, vendor support, equipment replacement, etc.
Provide after-hours support for scheduled on-call hours, along with availability for critical outages both planned and unplanned.
Operates as part of the tier-three support team for the IT department.
Qualifications
In-depth understanding of networking principles (OSI model, subnetting), protocols (TCP/IP), and architectures.
At least ten years of experience supporting enterprise-level networks.
Ability to analyze packet captures and network traces.
Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve multicast, streaming, and TCP/UDP-related issues.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
Must be able to climb ladders/pull cables and maintain/dress cabling and equipment in datacenter racks and network closets.
Relevant networking certifications a plus.
Azure certifications a plus.
Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls, Mellanox, and Aruba switches a plus.
Experience and knowledge with scripting a plus.
Linux and MacOS experience a plus
