The Senior network system Architect will be a key member of the Systems Engineering team under the SAP Cloud Architecture and Engineering organization. This team is focused on R&D in the area of Cloud compute, network and storage Infrastructure as a service layer and is responsible for SAP Cloud Computing infrastructure development. The architect will serve as a primary technical advisor and lead in the definition and development of in-memory computing-related systems for enterprise cloud. Senior systems architect of Petascale in-memory computing infrastructure.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

  • Design, implementation supervision, and support of next gen hardware and software infrastructure for HANA cloud computing initiatives both within SAP and with partners

  • Serve as a primary architect for the systems engineering team in enterprise cloud Drive the evaluation and adoption of emerging SDN (Software defined networking) in support of cloud computing initiatives

  • As a Cloud Architect, you are accountable for architecting, designing, & developing cloud delivery models and cloud platform solutions.

  • Create and document cloud deployment architectures as needed to maintain up-to-date details on existing infrastructure.

  • Manage and maintain multi-vendor, multi-protocol datacenter and backbone networks

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering

  • World-class innovator, deep understanding, and hands-on comfort with hardware systems, building fault tolerant and fault resilient systems

  • 10 years of in-depth experience with architecting, planning, designing and executing systems-related projects within enterprise, hosting, and/or cloud-centric data centers

  • 5 years of project management /management experience in fast paced environment

  • Excellent background and experience with routing and switching technologies

  • Expert level knowledge with TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, SDN - software defined networking and network virtualization (NSX)

  • Deep understanding of Network architecture and fault management systems

  • Willingness to interact extensively with customers to assist with implementation/network Architecture or service-related issues

  • Strong executive-level oral and written communication skills and customer orientation

  • Must be able to work onsite in Palo Alto, CA, local candidates preferred

Job Title: Solution Architect Location: Home Office, Palo Alto or Pittsburgh preferred Job Description Overview The primary responsibility of the Solution Architect is to enhance the SAP Ariba customer experience by maintaining ownership and accountability for a specific functional area or areas of the SAP Ariba applications suite. The foundation of this ownership is through a deep level of both functional and technical SAP Ariba product expertise coupled with broad business process knowledge and customer/situational management experience. The solution Architect must use this skill set to engage in critical customer (Ariba Presales team) situations, make key product decisions by developing a strong partnership with Engineering and Solution Management leaders, Ariba Demo team and multiply experience/knowledge across the entire Customer Support organization. Specific to this role, the Solution Architect will work primarily with the Ariba Presales team (which is the customer) and the Ariba Solution experience demo team and solution infrastructure. There are over 200 presales people globally using over 14 distinct demo systems at different levels of integration. Key Responsibilities: * Solution Ownership * Technical/Functional expert in at least one Solution Area/Component * Ability to represent SAP Ariba in any customer-facing situation for Solution Area(s)/Component(s) * Cross-organizational lead/go-to for Solution Area(s)/Component(s): * Product issues both Customer (incidents) and non-customer (health monitoring) reported * Multiplication of solution knowledge across entire organization (how things work and why) * Driving visibility and knowledge of new product Enhancements and roadmap * Product "Supportability" and Customer Adoption * Develop strong partnership with Engineering and other P&I leaders to make key decisions * Drive product direction to reduce incident volume and participate in relevant projects aimed at
