In close partnership with the VP, People & Culture and a team of talented HR professionals, the Director will be responsible for improving our people systems, creating new frameworks, and ensuring WesleyLife has a culture which celebrates, develops, engages, and retains talented leaders and team members. Primary responsibilities include: * Lead (both directly and indirectly) the workforce strategies for WesleyLife in collaboration with the VP, People and Culture to ensure WesleyLife is a great place to work and is continually grounded in our purpose, our mission and our values. * Engage in WesleyLife's short and long term people strategies by identifying, creating and executing annual people plans to drive toward results including high engagement, low turnover, successful talent acquisition strategies and positive health and wellness outcomes. * Provide ongoing support and indirect leadership to the People and Culture team serving our Communities for Healthy Living and Home-Based Services. Serve as technical expert in areas such as employee relations, recruitment strategies, FMLA/ADA, workers' compensation, diversity matters, and other tactical HR areas to assure not only alignment with WesleyLife's standards, but compliance with applicable rules, laws and regulations. * Directly leads WesleyLife's Benefits Specialist and the Talent Acquisition Specialist at the Network Support Center. * Collaborates with WesleyLife's Director of Organizational Learning to build, enhance, and execute broad workforce, learning and development strategies. * Through dialogue with leadership across the organization, identify people and culture related gaps and needs, then collaboratively identify solutions, tools, and approaches to bridge the gaps and improve processes or systems. * Serves as the primary People and Culture leader for the Network Support Center in Johnston, Iowa. This includes providing employee relations, recruitment and other tactical HR support for the "home office" of the organization. * Will engage in a wide variety of other duties and projects related to the ongoing execution of WesleyLife's people and culture priorities. Job Requirements The ideal candidate will demonstrate: * More than 6 years of professional HR experience with at least 3 years of formal leadership experience in a fast paced, high-performing organization; experience working in a non-profit or healthcare organization is preferred. Demonstrated experience leading in a multi-site organization is also preferred. * A Bachelor's Degree in HR or a related field is required. * HR Certification highly preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CEBS, CCP, etc.) * Demonstrated successes in influencing and driving change through both formal and informal leadership. * Demonstrated ability to stay aligned to the bigger picture while prioritizing the daily work of the organization. * Demonstrated subject matter expertise in the technical matters related to HR, including employee relations, legal/regulatory compliance (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEOC, etc.), performance management, diversity, and compensation/benefits. * Previous experience in developing, implementing and reinforcing human capital and organizational culture initiatives, including the development of tools and resources to improve effectiveness, transparency and accountability. * Track record of achieving results and meeting organizational goals. * Strong emotional intelligence and exceptional people skills with a track record of developing the people around you and coaching others to success. * Exceptional communication skills to include verbal and written communication as well as presentation skills for small and large groups. * Ability to manage a large workload through effective use of time and solid project management skills.
